Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets ” (Amos 3:7).

The Warning Went Out...

In the last three months, many changes have taken place in Israel and in the Middle East. There has even been a major change in the attitude of the United Nations towards Israel. As we watch end time events unfold, Jerusalem takes centre stage, with the focal point being the Temple Mount, just as God revealed through His end time Apostle, Herbert W Armstrong!

As the first article points out, the reenactment of the Passover was held in a main plaza close to the Temple Mount. Then follow the progress of change through the following news articles:

9th April 2017

“The drops of blood formed a long trail in one of the main plazas of Jerusalem’s Old City. This time it wasn’t a terror attack but it definitely was a sensitive event from a Middle Eastern perspective.

It was a reenactment of the Paschal sacrifice, staged by activists seeking to expand the Jewish presence on the Temple Mount and attended by hundreds of right-wing Jewish men, women and children. The bloody trail marked the route from the place where the lamb was slaughtered to the altar put up in the middle of the plaza.

Thursday’s event marked a real achievement. It’s a big step up from just two years ago, when the ceremony was held almost in secret in a school courtyard in one of the capital’s religious neighborhoods.” ( haaretz.com)

The United Nations’ cultural body UNESCO has spent much of its time and energy on attacking Israel, denying that the Jews had any claim to the Temple Mount. Now, a complete change of attitude!

“The head of the United Nations’ cultural body UNESCO defended Jewish links to holy sites in Jerusalem on Monday, criticizing her own agency’s governing board for passing a series of resolutions that downplay or deny any Jewish connection to its most sacred spaces.

Also in her address, Bokova launched a new policy guide for educators focused on the teaching of the Holocaust, genocide and mass atrocities. ‘We must empower future generations with the lessons from the Holocaust, equip our children and grandchildren with the tools they need to vanquish intolerance and hate, bigotry and anti-Semitism, racism and prejudice,’ she said.” ( timesofisrael.com)

Many Jews seeking a repeat of history…

“Temple Mount Faithful to President Donald Trump: ‘Declare, Call, and Stand with Israel to Build the Third Temple in Jerusalem Like King Cyrus of Persia Did in 536 bce.’ ‘Call the Pope to Return the Temple Menorah and Articles to Jerusalem to Be Used by Israel in the Third Holy Temple, soon to Be Built, Like King Cyrus Did When He Returned the Temple Menorah and Articles from Babylon to Be Used in the Second Temple.’

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement blesses President Donald Trump upon his election as the next president to lead the United States of America. Today we are blessing President Donald Trump with an ancient Jewish blessing: ‘Blessed are You our LORD, King of Kings, for sharing His honor with human beings’.” ( templemountfaithful.org)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu makes Israel’s position on the Temple Mount very clear:

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on Sunday evening, marking 50 years since the reunification of Jerusalem, saying the city had been ‘liberated,’ not ‘occupied,’ and that the Western Wall and Temple Mount would forever remain under Israeli control.

‘Fifty years ago, we didn’t occupy, we liberated; by the heroism of our warriors and the love of our people, Jerusalem was liberated,’ said Netanyahu. ‘I say to the world with a clear voice: Jerusalem was and always will be the capital of Israel. The Temple Mount and the Western Wall will always remain under Israeli sovereignty’ ." ( haaretz.com)

The following article points out what needs to happen, then shows that Islam is a major problem!

“President Trump may have all the good intentions in the world for making a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians, but it won’t happen unless there’s a revolution in Islamic thought, a leading Middle East scholar said. But Harold Rhode, a leading Middle East expert, said it’s not so simple. Rhode lived and studied at universities in the Islamic world for years and spent nearly three decades advising the US Defense Department on Islamic Affairs.

Rhode points to former PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat’s reaction to the deal offered to him by then Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak at Camp David in 2000. ‘Barak offers Yasser Arafat absolutely everything in the West Bank and as it came [to] the Temple Mount – which we know in the Bible there were two Jewish Temples there – Barak said, “you get the top of the Temple Mount where your mosques, your holy places are, we get below because those are the archaeological remnants, but it’s in return for a peace agreement”.’

Rhode said. ‘Arafat, who could do things much more in the name of the people here than Mahmoud Abbas, jumps up, starts to shake and said, “there never was a Jewish Temple here!”’ he explained. Rhode referred to a pamphlet by the Muslim Wafk (Islamic trust), which oversees the al-Aksa Mosque and Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount, written in the 1920s. It stated that there’s no doubt Solomon’s Temple was on the Temple Mount. ( A Brief Guide to AL-HARAM AL-SHARIF)

Rhode also said while the Palestinians may be willing at some point to recognize the country of Israel, they won’t recognize it as a Jewish state because that would contradict their religion. ‘If they recognize it as a Jewish state, they’re denying the basic Muslim idea that once land is conquered by Muslims, it’s Muslim forever,’ he said. ‘That is a huge violation of Islam. It’s a violation of your personal honor, they say. It’s apostasy and punishable by death’.” ( cbn.com)

Yet again, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu makes Israel’s position very clear:

“A day after Mr Trump’s visit, PM says US president’s pilgrimage to the Western Wall holy site ‘destroyed UNESCO’s propaganda and lies’. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Isaac Herzog went head-to-head in the Knesset on Wednesday over Jerusalem, with the premier saying Palestinian refusal to recognize the Jewish state and its capital in any borders is the root of the conflict, and pledging that the city, including the Temple Mount and Western Wall, will forever remain under Israeli sovereignty.( timesofisrael.com)

Now the head of the United Nations steps in with support for Israel:

“The head of the United Nations told leaders from the Simon Wiesenthal Center that ‘denial of Israel’s right to exist is anti-Semitism,’ the Jewish organization announced in a press release on Tuesday. Speaking at his offices at the UN headquarters in New York, Secretary-General António Guterres discussed the UN’s role in countering growing anti-Semitism in Europe, ending the demonization of Israel at the UN — including in agencies such as UNRWA, UNESCO, and the UN Human Rights Council — and obstacles facing the prospect of Middle East peace.” ( thetower.org)

The Jews long for the third Temple to be built:

“Rabbi Richman, director of the International Department of The Temple Institute, says he is committed to rebuilding Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. Israeli Brigade Commander Colonel Motta Gur captured the Temple Mount in 1967. After the capture, he announced: ‘The Temple Mount is in our hands! The Temple Mount is in our hands!’

Retaking the temple was important to the Jewish world because the site was where King Solomon built the first Jewish temple. When that temple was destroyed, a second temple was built, only to later fall in 70 AD to the Romans. Recapturing the site meant the Jews could have their long-awaited third temple.” ( pakistanchristianpost.com)

The following article points out that there is a new awakening among some Christians to the significance of the Temple Mount. As they point out by quoting a verse from the prophet Isaiah: My House shall be a house of prayer for ALL peoples ”!

“‘Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon Mine altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples’ Isaiah 56:7 (The Israel Bible™).

Until now, the bloody battle for the Temple Mount has been fought between Muslims and Jews, but a new awakening among some Christians to its significance is creating a shifting pre-Messianic reality at the already volatile site. The developing status of Christians on the Temple Mount played out a few weeks ago in a Muslim-Christian confrontation that nearly ended in violence.

The Temple Mount showdown involved Nate Waller, Director of Operations at Hayovel, an organization which brings Christian volunteers to Israel to fulfill Biblical prophecy by working on vineyards in Samaria. As a frequent visitor to the Temple Mount, Waller’s connection to the site is an increasingly important part of his belief – and he thinks other Christians should see it that way, too.

Through his close work with religious Jews, Waller began to understand the significance of the site. ‘Christians generally believe that God’s presence has left the Temple Mount since the destruction of the Temple,’ Waller explained. ‘From the Jews, I am just now beginning to understand that this is still the place of God’s name, and His name has not been removed.’

Yaakov Hayman, Chairman of the United Temple Movements, encourages this awakening and sees it as having a significant place in the Third Temple. Hayman’s organization has brought a suit in the Israeli High Court to bring this vision of a House of Prayer for all nations to reality. ‘It is frightening that in this day and age that people are prevented from praying anywhere, especially on the Temple Mount,’ Hayman lamented.” ( breakingisraelnews.com)

Mid East Turmoil

Right now, tension in the Middle East continues to rise. The war in Syria has now lasted longer than WW2, and with no end in sight. On the one side, Saudi Arabia - backed by the USA and several Sunni Arab nations - is trying to oust President Assad of Syria, who in turn is supported by Iran and Russia.

Now - Major Political Upheaval In Saudi Arabia

Are we about to witness major changes in the Middle East? Saudi Arabia seems set to challenge Iran, and this could lead to open warfare. As the following article claims, the young Crown Prince is somewhat ‘ impulsive and reckless ’, which does not bode well in the volatile Middle East!

“Months of speculation were ended by the issuing of a brief royal decree signed by King Salman.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef was out, stripped too of his role as interior minister. In came Mohammed bin Salman, the king’s 31-year old son, who was elevated from his previous position as deputy crown prince to become heir to the throne.

The announcement was short and to the point, but the implications are enormous. This new team swept aside many of the traditional leadership practices. Moribund state institutions were either scrapped or merged into leaner and more efficient bodies. The whole government decision-making process was streamlined.

In the broader Middle East, King Salman and his son decided that Saudi Arabia should adopt a regional superpower role to block what they regarded as Iranian meddling in predominantly Sunni Muslim Arab states.

In that context, Mohammed bin Salman in March 2015 out of the blue launched a military campaign in Yemen.

With the support of other Gulf states the aim was to crush a Shia Houthi rebellion. What was intended to be a swift and decisive campaign has turned into a war that neither side seems likely to win, resulting in widespread civilian suffering and attracting negative publicity for the kingdom.

Most recently Saudis were taken by surprise when the kingdom joined the United Arab Emirates in imposing a blockade on Qatar. The Doha leadership’s friendship with Iran was one of the factors behind the move. Again, how this crisis will be ended is far from clear.

So Mohammed bin Salman certainly faces challenges, but they appear not to worry him. He is, undoubtedly, energetic and determined, although his critics say he’s impulsive and can be reckless.” ( bbc.co.uk)

Qatar

Yet another developing Mid-East crisis… “the worst in decades”:

“Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are asking the Gulf state to shut down its broadcaster, Al Jazeera. They are also asking Qatar to reduce ties with Iran and close a Turkish military base - all within 10 days.

Qatar denies funding terrorism and encouraging regional instability. It has been subjected to more than two weeks of unprecedented diplomatic and economic sanctions, in the worst Gulf crisis in decades.( bbc.co.uk)

Now Turkey Makes A Bid To Control The Temple Mount

“The Jerusalem municipality’s eastern Jerusalem experts have revealed in recent days that Turkey has been competing with Jordan over influence among Arab residents as well as over control of the Temple Mount, Hashiloach — an Israeli journal for thought and policy, created by the Tikvah Fund — reported last week. The city’s experts, David Koren and Ben Avrahami, also revealed that Turkey has begun pouring millions of dollars into non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in eastern Jerusalem, in order to strengthen Ankara’s status among the Arab residents, at the expense of Jordan and Israel.

One hundred years after the last Turkish soldier was chased out of Jerusalem by the invading British Empire, ‘Turkey’s public support for the Palestinian cause and the Al-Aqsa conflict, and their channeling of millions of dollars into eastern Jerusalem, bear many fruits in the form of sympathy and support,’ the experts concluded, adding that the Turks’ ‘ involvement is made possible by their cooperation with Muslim Brotherhood elements in the city, who are often being used as their allies and collaborators’ .” ( breakingisraelnews.com)

We Were Warned!

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets(Amos 3:7).

As we watch end time events unfold, Jerusalem takes centre stage, with the focal point being the Temple Mount! Mr Armstrong gave the following information to the ministry in his Pastor General’s Report dated November 20, 1979:

Just where are we, now, in the prophesied panorama of events leading to the END of this age?

Both world events and occurrences in the Church indicate we are in the time mentioned in Daniel 12.

In verse 2, Daniel speaks of the resurrection of saints at the time of Christ’s coming. Then he speaks of events leading up to that crowning event in history. He says, ‘But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased’ (Verse 4).

Daniel did not understand, but the angel said, ‘Go thy way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end’ (Daniel 12:9).

And then what – in the TIME OF THE END, into which we have entered? ‘Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried, …but the wise shall understand’ (Verse 10). We are in that time of trying and testing, to bring us closer to God – to prepare us for Christ’s coming – now!

Many of us are being tried and tested as never before – and for our own good!

But, verse 11, ‘from the time the daily sacrifice shall be taken away…’ Consider this a moment. This does NOT imply a material temple to be built in our time in Jerusalem. It does seem to imply the Israelis may restore the daily (twice daily) sacrifice – possibly at the wailing wall. The indication is the armies of the ‘beast’ of Revelation 17, entering Jerusalem (Dan. 11:41, Zech. 14:2), will stop this daily sacrifice. ‘…And the abomination that maketh desolate set up.’

What is this abomination?

This refers to Daniel 11:31 and Matthew 24:15. In Daniel 11:31, the armies of Antiochus Epiphanes were at Jerusalem, and some commentators have interpreted it as Antiochus placing a statue of Jupiter in the Holy of Holies in the Temple. Not only does Matthew 24:15 also refer to this, but in a parallel New Testament scripture, Luke 21:20 speaks of the same thing as ‘Jerusalem compassed with armies.’ This is the correct meaning of this abomination. It is the armies – not a statue – that make Jerusalem desolate.

We have reached the time just before a ‘U.S. of Europe’ restores the ‘Holy Roman Empire,’ under the Papacy, in a union of Church and State.

It could happen SUDDENLY, leaving the whole world aghast in WONDER.

The whole world is now on fire! This is not the great tribulation, but is certainly preliminary to it.

It’s time for intensive fasting and prayer!( Pastor General’s Report – November 20, 1979)
