Christmas… Easter… Halloween… all based on lies and deception… it’s really all about…

Mystery, Money and Merchandise

Americans spend half a trillion dollars every year on religious holidays - Christmas, Easter, Halloween - and if they suddenly stopped, the retail industry could well collapse! This world’s financial system is supported and propped up by public spending on so called “Christian” holy days.

Referring to this world’s religious holidays, Mr Armstrong pointed out:

“You know, most people observe certain religious holidays every year; and they don’t know why – except that they stimulate the sale of merchandise (like Christmas, Easter, Halloween). They all have something to do with the sale of merchandise, but no real purpose when you get down to it. Christmas does not celebrate the birth of Christ; and, even if it did, why should we be celebrating it? In the Bible only pagans ever celebrated birthdays, not God’s people. What’s the purpose? Why should you celebrate a birthday? They have no reason.” ( Sermon - 17 October 1981)

Is Halloween Bigger Than Christmas?

“Any discussion of booming seasonal retail sales inevitably prompts comparisons to the pre-eminent binge time for consumer spending, the mall-stuffing Christmas holiday season, leading to the legend that Halloween has now worked its way up to the #2 spot on the holiday sales charts, just behind Christmas. However, according to the NRF, Halloween’s $5 billion in retail sales place it no higher than sixth among holiday sales leaders, behind the following:

Winter holidays (Christmas): $457.4 billion

Mother’s Day: $13.80 billion

Valentine’s Day: $13.70 billion

Easter: $12.63 billion

Father’s Day: $9.01 billion

It’s easy to see why people might get the impression that Halloween sales have crept up just behind those of Christmas, as those occasions are the centers of our two longest, most ‘visible’ holiday seasons: Halloween engenders home displays that rival or surpass those of the winter holidays in elaborateness, and Halloween is the only celebration that prompts widespread public wearing of distinctive, highly noticeable apparel.

However, one quality of most higher sales-spurring holidays that Halloween so far lacks is the custom of celebrants’ giving pricey gifts to others — unless Halloween evolves into an occasion for giving on a scale considerably greater than handing out a bit of candy to bands of trick-or-treaters, it may not surpass occasions such as Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day and approach the #2 slot in retail sales anytime soon.” (

The Selfie Holiday

“Halloween is no longer just about costumes and candy. It’s now the second-biggest decorating holiday of the year - right behind Christmas. For Tony Bianchi, that means October is by far the busiest month of the year. The co-owner of Halloween Adventure, a chain of Halloween superstores, hired an additional 65 workers at his flagship store in downtown New York City to handle the increase in Halloween sales.

Why the growing popularity? Bianchi says for one, it’s all about you. ‘Mother’s Day, you’re giving gifts. Christmas, you’re giving gifts. Here, you’re giving gifts to yourself,’ he said. His shoppers seem to agree.” (

The Dark Side Of Halloween

“On October 31st, tens of millions of Americans will celebrate Halloween by going trick-or-treating or by attending costume parties. For most people, Halloween is a fun evening of dressing up and eating too much candy, and it is a holiday that is becoming more popular than ever. According to a recent report from the National Retail Federation, seven out of every 10 Americans plan to celebrate Halloween this year. That is the highest level that the National Retail Federation has ever recorded.

This year, it is being projected that Americans will spend $6.86 billion on Halloween. Every year Halloween just keeps getting bigger and bigger. But there is also a dark side to Halloween. It is not ‘politically correct’ to talk about this, but the truth is that the way that many people choose to celebrate Halloween is the kind of stuff that real life nightmares are made of.

A recent article posted on Raiders News Update summarized some of the history behind this holiday. …ALL HALLOWS’ EVE, or Halloween, originated in the 7th century AD. It was celebrated on 13 May and was a night for remembering deceased saints and martyrs. The date was later changed to November 1 in order to Christianize the pagan holidays Beltane and Samhain–festivals of summer, winter and fire.

The Catholic Church attempted to make a very popular pagan festival an official holiday of Catholicism. But the truth is that Samhain was celebrated for many centuries before ‘Halloween’ was ever invented. In fact, there are many groups that celebrate Samhain even today.

A lot of Protestants did not approve of ‘Halloween’. In many areas of early America, Halloween was considered to be so evil that it was banned. But later on as waves of immigrants from Europe came over, the celebration of Halloween began to spread and today it has been overwhelmingly accepted by most of society.

When I was growing up, most children would dress up as ghosts, cartoon characters or super heroes on Halloween.

Some neo-pagans object to the alleged Christian takeover of their holiday, or to what they see as a distorted, negative view of witches and magic.(

But today, Halloween has become much more ‘edgy’ and much more ‘seductive’.

An article posted on the website of the LA Times noted that even girls as young as seven or eight years old are now dressing very ‘sexy’ for Halloween. …‘Halloween costumes for 7- and 8-year-old girls and even younger have become downright titillating, and for tweens and teens, the vast majority of those sold in stores and on the Internet are unabashedly sexually alluring.’

Unfortunately, the truth is that Halloween was never an ‘innocent’ holiday. It is just that mainstream America is quite a bit more eager to embrace the darkness of Halloween these days.

Most Americans are completely unaware of it, but the reality is that some very, very bizarre rituals take place on Halloween night. For some, Halloween night is the most important night of the year.

In recent years, there has been an explosion of interest in the occult in the United States. Some of the most popular books, television shows and movies have been about vampires, witches, warlocks, ghosts and dark supernatural phenomena. Unfortunately, some people seem to want to act out these things in real life. For example, down in Florida recently an 18-year-old girl was charged along with four others of beating a 16-year-old boy to death.

What was so strange about this was the fact that the 18-year-old girl actually believes that she is part vampire and part werewolf.

The article then goes on to report on a series of horrific rituals and blood sacrifices, involving cats, other animals and even humans.

As I mentioned earlier, it is very controversial to discuss the dark side of Halloween. There is stuff going on out there that is absolutely unimaginable. A lot of people do not want to acknowledge the real life nightmares that happen during Halloween, but refusing to acknowledge them will not make them go away.(

“There has been a backlash against Halloween by several groups in recent years. Some Christians object to its allegedly pagan origins, or to what they see as its celebration of witches and other ‘evil powers.’

Some neo-pagans object to the alleged Christian takeover of their holiday, or to what they see as a distorted, negative view of witches and magic.

And some simply don’t think it’s safe for children to go out after dark taking candy from strangers.” (

The Fastest Growing Religion In America

“What is the fastest growing religion in the United States? If you said Christianity, you would be way off. In fact, the most recent numbers show that Christianity is in a serious state of decline in America. If you said Islam, you are much closer to a correct answer. Islam is the fastest growing major religion in the United States.

But there is a faith that is growing even faster than Islam. It is called Wicca, and it is currently growing at an astounding pace. Wicca emerged as a faith in the middle of the 20th century, but the origins of many Wiccan practices actually go back for thousands of years, and some researchers believe that certain aspects of Wicca can actually be traced all the way back to ancient Babylon.

According to Wikipedia, Wicca ‘is a modern pagan, witchcraft religion’. It has been estimated that the number of Americans that are Wiccans is doubling every 30 months, and at this point there are more than 200,000 registered witches and approximately 8 million unregistered practitioners of Wicca. And it is important to remember that Wicca is just one form of witchcraft. There are many other ‘darker’ forms of witchcraft that are also experiencing tremendous growth.

There is a huge fascination with the occult in the United States right now. We can see this on television, in our movies and in popular novels.

But this is not just happening in America. According to the Guardian, there is also an explosion of interest in witchcraft going on in the UK…

Wiccans were celebrating this holiday (Samhain) long before anyone else started celebrating it. This year Americans will spend about 6 billion dollars on Halloween celebrations, but most of them have absolutely no idea that many ‘Halloween traditions’ can be traced directly back to ancient Wiccan practices. The following is from a recent Business Insider article… Black cats, spiders, and bats are all Halloween symbols because of their spooky history and ties to Wiccans. All three were thought to be the familiars of witches in the middle ages, and are often associated with bad luck. Bats are even further connected to Halloween by the ancient Samhain ritual of building a bonfire, which drove away insects and attracted bats.

But more Americans than ever are embracing the darkness, and each year this comes to a fever pitch on Halloween night.(

God Gives Us This Warning!

As the children of Israel were about to enter the promised land, God gave them this warning:

"When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there.

For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead.

Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these detestable things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you.” (Deuteronomy 18:9-13, New Living Translation)

Many years later, the Prophet Isaiah was inspired to write:

“Someone may say to you, ‘Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.’ But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.” (Isaiah 8:19-21)

“Thus Says The Holy One Of Israel”

Speaking to modern “children of Israel”, God warns:

…this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the Lord; Who say to the seers, ‘Do not see,’ And to the prophets, ‘Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, cause the Holy One of Israel To cease from before us.’

Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:

‘Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perversity, and rely on them, therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel, which is broken in pieces;

He shall not spare. So there shall not be found among its fragments a shard to take fire from the hearth, or to take water from the cistern.” (Isaiah 30:9-14, New King James)

The Warning Went Out

Here is God’s warning that went out in great strength to this end time world:

“Notice what else God is NOW about to do to US: ‘I will also cause all her mirth to cease, HER feast days’ – those of Baal – Christmas, New Year, Easter, Lenten season, HALLOWEEN! They are NOT GOD’S days! Continue: ‘her new moons and her sabbaths…’ ( NOT GOD’S, but those of Baalism, which our people call THEIR Sabbaths – the pagan SUNDAY!) (Hosea 2:11)

God continues: ‘And I will punish her for the feast days of the Baals …when she forgot me, says the Eternal’ (verse 13, Revised Standard Version).

For over thirty-eight years, on The WORLD TOMORROW program, and in The PLAIN TRUTH magazine, I have been shouting God’s prophecies to our people – that we are going to have such total DROUGHT and disease epidemics that it will take one third of our people! And, unless our people as a nation wake up and REPENT of these SINS, we shall then be INVADED, and once more TAKEN CAPTIVE AS SLAVES.

You may scoff. You may ignore. But NOT FOR LONG! In the near future it will STRIKE! You won’t scoff then!( Which Day Is The Christian Sabbath?)
