We pollute the air we breathe… we pollute the water we drink… we corrupt the food we eat… if this downward trend continues…

Can Mankind Survive?

Our planet is literally being destroyed right in front of our eyes, and a lot of people don’t seem to care.

Our endless wars have killed thousands, millions of children have been killed in our ‘clinics’, and we are wiping out countless species of plants and animals without even thinking twice about it.

What kind of monsters have we become?

We are so cold and so heartless, and all we seem to care about is ourselves.

Given enough time, nothing would survive. We are systematically destroying ourselves and everything around us, and for a while it didn’t seem like we needed to fear the long-term consequences.

But now the dark times are upon us, and the stench of our evil ways has become undeniable.(

To survive, mankind needs good food, clean air and clean water, yet we seem to be doing our best to pollute and destroy the very things that are essential for human life!

The question is – WHY? Why are we destroying ourselves?

Before we answer the question, let’s first examine the problems, starting… by looking at the situation with food.

“It is, on the face of it, the opposite of junk food - a low-fat chicken (long promoted as a healthy alternative to red meat) brushed with olive oil and roasted, with no chemical additives, no batter, no breadcrumbs, no smiling Colonel Sanders and no Happy Meal toy. Last month, however, Britain’s favourite bird was shown to contain as much fat, gram for gram, as a Big Mac.

Professor Michael Crawford and Yoqun Wang of London Metropolitan University found that a chicken in 2004 contained more than twice as much fat as in 1940, a third more calories and a third less protein - when protein is what the consumer is paying for. As Professor Crawford says, ‘We now need a new definition of what we mean by a healthy food.’

“One dietician gave this advice, ‘My basic rule in diet is:
Eat only those natural foods that will spoil –
and eat them before they do’.” ( The Plain Truth – January 1982)

Even organic chickens, assumed to be a healthier option, contain only slightly less fat than protein. It may have had more space to roam than a conventionally reared bird but is still given high-energy feed, takes little exercise and is bred for rapid weight gain, when the development of meat takes time. ‘A free-range bird is the best,’ says Crawford, ‘but even that depends on its diet.’

In 50 years, poultry has gone from being a health food to a junk food - and some scientists claim other natural produce is going the same way.

Last month, delegates at the conference ‘Overfed and Undernourished’ (organised by BANT, the British Association of Nutritional Therapy) heard that, between 1940 and 1991, many fresh fruits and vegetables had lost large amounts of minerals and trace elements.

During that 51-year period, potatoes appeared to have lost 47 per cent of their copper, 45 per cent of their iron and 35 per cent of their calcium while carrots showed even bigger declines. Broccoli - a ‘superfood’ rich in micronutrients and cancer-busting antioxidants - suffered an 80 per cent drop in copper while calcium content was a quarter of what it had been in 1940, a pattern repeated in tomatoes. As Thomas pointed out: ‘You would need to have eaten 10 tomatoes in 1991 to have obtained the same copper intake as from one tomato in 1940.’

In 2002, the Toronto Globe and Mail reported that fruit and vegetables bought in Canadian supermarkets had shown marked declines over a 50-year period. Analysing food tables prepared by government scientists between 1951 and 1999 (roughly as David Thomas had done), researchers found that potatoes had lost 100 per cent of their vitamin A (important for good eyesight) and 57 per cent of their vitamin C, while today’s consumers would have to eat eight oranges to get the same amount of vitamin A as their grandparents obtained from one fruit.

‘In those 50 years,’ he said, ‘there have been intensive efforts to breed new varieties that have greater yield, or resistance to pests, or adaptability to different climates - but the dominant effort is for higher yields.

New evidence suggests that, if you select for yield, crops grow bigger and faster… but they don’t have the ability to make or uptake nutrients at the same rate.’

‘Studies show that organic food has 15 per cent more dry matter than non-organic food,’ she says, ‘so for each kilo of organic fruit or veg you are getting 15 per cent more nutrition. Some of the high yield in conventional farmed crops is just water. By using a lot of NPK [nitrogen phosphorous potassium] fertilisers, the plant is forced to grow faster - and our measure of growth is just the weight at the end. There is no focus on what growth really means in plants and animals.

With livestock, too, you are giving them unnaturally high-energy diets to force them to grow a lot faster.’

In the past, according to the 1996 book Food Ethics, it took a steer more than six years to reach a body weight of 500kg; now, it takes an unnatural 20 months.

A dairy cow produces 9,000kg of milk per year compared with 2,000kg in 1956.

In a pattern pertinent to Professor Michael Crawford’s work, a 2kg broiler chicken is now produced in six or seven weeks instead of 14.

Can such rapid growth really be sustained without a loss of meat quality? Professor Crawford believes it can’t.

Dr Bernard Jensen - ‘We are what we eat’

“We must realize that good nutrition is the path to life, the simple most important factor in good health, a sound mind and long life. We are what we eat – and what we do not eat. The body molds to the foods we put into it – for better or worse.” (

Correcting this, Crawford says, would require ‘a revolution in the animal industry’ because all livestock is fed cereals. ‘Animal husbandry started with grass and green foods,’ he says, ‘which are rich in omega-3. That is the beauty of fish and seafood because it’s still largely wild, it’s still living in an omega-3-rich environment.

The same used to be true of livestock animals - even chickens used to roam free and live off seeds and herbs - but that is no longer the case. It really is a question of redesigning our food and agriculture systems so they are more keyed in to the pivotal priority of human physiology - namely, our original genome being shaped by wild foods.(

What Is Processed Food And Just How Bad Is It?

Over 40 years ago, Mr Armstrong had this to say about processed food:

“Today nearly everything we eat passes through man’s hands – or his factories – before it comes to the consumer. In the interests of bigger profits the gigantic food industry is giving us a diet of foodless ‘foods.’

Take wheat. Wheat is almost a perfect food. It contains all 16 major food elements, in near perfectly balanced proportion. But they take that perfect grain of wheat apart, rob it of the 12 mineral elements, and turn it into white flour – containing the four carbohydrate elements.

Why? Well, if they were to give you real whole wheat flour, it would spoil after so long a time. And in the big business distribution system, the flour may not reach the consumer until after it spoils. That would mean a loss to the food industry.” ( The Plain Truth – January 1982)

Why Process Food?

“Anything that takes a trip through a manufacturing plant is technically a processed food. Food may be processed for a number of reasons: to prevent spoilage (allowing you to keep items in your fridge or pantry longer); to make it more convenient (pre-washed salad greens, canned beans, and frozen fruits and veggies are prime examples); to improve flavor or texture by using certain additives; and to boost vitamin or mineral content (such the nutrients added to enriched, refined grains). Food might also be processed to keep it safer, say, by killing potentially harmful pathogens. For example, nitrates are added to certain cured meats and poultry to inhibit Clostritium botulinum, a life-threatening bacteria.

While I certainly appreciate the advantages of processing food — less kitchen stress and a reduced risk of deadly bacteria are appealing! — there are downsides to processing as well.

What’s an ultra-processed food?

According to researchers, a better way to assess how processed your food is might be to inspect the ingredient list for added sugars and industrial ingredients that you wouldn’t find in your kitchen. Examples of these ingredients include (but aren’t limited to) soy protein isolate, high fructose corn syrup, fruit juice concentrate, gluten, maltodextrin, inulin, and gums. These ingredients should tip you off to the fact that the product has taken a pretty long trip through a manufacturing process and has entered the highly processed zone.” (

Yet in a world where millions are starving, we waste so much!

“It is being eaten by weevils in sub-Saharan Africa and inadvertently passed over by harvesters in the rice fields of Southeast Asia. It gets scraped into the trash in restaurants in North America, and sometimes left to rot on the vine on farms in Europe. In today’s economy, it can be cheaper for farmers to leave perfectly good food in the fields than to sell it.” (

Fresh Air

In many places, especially cities, the air we breath is far from ‘pure’. The air quality is so bad in some cities that you can see what you are breathing!

“Fresh air is defined as cool, unpolluted air in natural surroundings. It certainly doesn’t exist everywhere. In China the air in some cities is so polluted that bags of ‘fresh air’ are taken there so people can take a breath of it.(

“If we want to be happier and healthier, we have to understand we are part of the environment and not separate from it.” (

Our Polluted Planet

Our whole way of life seems set on a course to destroy us!

“Sulfur dioxide emitted from the combustion of fossil fuels like coal, petroleum and other factory combustibles are one of the major causes of air pollution. Pollution emitting from vehicles including trucks, jeeps, cars, trains, airplanes cause an immense amount of pollution. We rely on them to fulfill our daily basic needs of transportation. But, their overuse is killing our environment as dangerous gases are polluting the environment.

Ammonia is a very common byproduct from agriculture-related activities and is one of the most hazardous gases in the atmosphere. Use of insecticides, pesticides, and fertilizers in agricultural activities has grown quite a lot. They emit harmful chemicals into the air and can also cause water pollution.

Why the Amazon is burning

“Don’t blame dry weather for the swift destruction of the world’s largest tropical forest, say environmentalists. These Amazonian wildfires are a human-made disaster, set by loggers and cattle ranchers who use a ‘slash and burn’ method to clear land …some of those fires have spread out of control.” (

Manufacturing industries release a large amount of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, organic compounds, and chemicals into the air thereby depleting the quality of air. Manufacturing industries can be found at every corner of the earth and there is no area that has not been affected by it. Petroleum refineries also release hydrocarbons and various other chemicals that pollute the air and also cause land pollution.

Mining is a process wherein minerals below the earth are extracted using large equipment. During the process dust and chemicals are released in the air causing massive air pollution.

Household cleaning products, painting supplies emit toxic chemicals in the air and cause air pollution. Have you ever noticed that once you paint the walls of your house, it creates some sort of smell which makes it literally impossible for you to breathe? (


The poem goes: “Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink”! As the following article points out, drinking water is a rare commodity. Yet we use our rivers as open sewers in many countries, and the agricultural chemicals that get washed down into our rivers kill off all life in huge areas of the ocean.

“Over 68 percent of the fresh water on Earth is found in icecaps and glaciers, and just over 30 percent is found in ground water. Only about 0.3 percent of our fresh water is found in the surface water of lakes, rivers, and swamps. Of all the water on Earth, more than 99 percent of Earth’s water is unusable by humans and many other living things! It seems extraordinary that the water that supports all terrestrial, as well as aquatic, life on our planet is actually so scarce. With this stunning realization comes a recognition that we have to utilize this resource very wisely.” (

How Sewage Pollution Ends Up In Rivers

Yet again, the way we live causes huge problems.

“3.5 million Americans get sick each year after swimming, boating, fishing, or otherwise touching water they thought was safe. Where does human waste mingle with household chemicals, personal hygiene products, pharmaceuticals, and everything else that goes down the drains in American homes and businesses? In sewers.

And what can you get when rain, pesticides, fertilizers, automotive chemicals, and trash run off the streets and down the gutters into those very same sewers? Sewage backing up into people’s basements. Sewage spilling onto streets and parks. Sewage pouring into rivers and streams.

Each year, more than 860 billion gallons of this vile brew escapes sewer systems across the country…

Untreated human sewage teems with salmonella, hepatitis, dysentery, cryptosporidium, and many other infectious diseases.

One hundred years ago, epidemics of these diseases helped limit the life expectancy of a US citizen to about 50 years.

Planting trees, restoring wetlands, and creating green roofs are often the most cost-effective ways to expand the capacity of sewer systems.

The importance of trees and clean water…

On His return, Christ tells us…

“I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
I will plant the cedar in the wilderness, the acacia tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree. I will set the fir tree in the desert, and the pine, and the box tree together;
so that they may see, and know, and look on, and understand together, that the hand of [the Eternal] has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.” (Isaiah 41:18-20)

A single mature tree with a thirty-foot crown can keep 4,600 gallons of water out of the sewer each year. For less than $300,000, it’s possible to construct an artificial wetland that can intercept 3.25 million gallons of stormwater otherwise destined for the sewer.

Clean water. It’s essential. It’s irreplaceable.

If Americans today want our children and grandchildren to splash along the shore at sunset or drink from the faucet without worry, then it’s time for us to act. It’s time to make the commitment to keep raw sewage out of our water.” (

We Must Understand The Spiritual Dimension

“Remember that this world is controlled by supernatural spirit powers. Satan is called the ruler of this world in three distinct scriptures – John 12:31, 14:30 and 16:11. He is the god of this age whom the world worships in ignorance! God’s Great Plan For Mankind

“‘Let us make man after OUR kind.’ In other words, God said ‘Let Us make man after the GOD kind.’ Man was made to be reproduced, or the instrument through which God would reproduce HIMSELF! Satan Also Has A Plan!

Satan has inspired man to create a society that is about to self destruct. He is also stirring up the nations to prepare for war – to fight Christ at His return.

Yet Again… The Warning Did Go Out!

“Present world turmoil, escalating wars and contentions will climax in world trouble so great that, unless God intervenes, no human flesh would be saved alive (Matthew 24:22).

At its very climax when delay would result in blasting all life from off this planet, Jesus Christ will return.

This time he is coming as divine God. He is coming in all the power and glory of the universe-ruling Creator. (Matthew 24:30; 25:31.)

He is coming as ‘King of kings, and Lord of lords’ (Revelation 19:16), to establish world super-government and rule all nations ‘with a rod of iron’ (Revelation 19:15; 12:5).

Why do the professing Christian churches omit all these scriptures about Christ coming and of his ruling the earth?

Jesus’ very gospel was that of the kingdom of God he shall then establish on earth.( Mystery of the Ages - Chapter 7)
