The Preparation Of The Gospel Of Peace

by Jon Bowles

You have probably heard the saying - it is very common -"Every journey begins with a single step". We had somebody coming to the Feast one year, here in the UK. They landed at Manchester Airport and they had directions on how to get to the Feast site. They then set off from the airport, and they knew that they had to get on the Ring Road round Manchester, and they knew the junction number that they had to get to. So once they got to the Ring Road and turned on to it, about fifty to sixty miles and an hour later they finally came to the correct junction and turned off and travelled onto to the Feast. However, if instead of turning left onto the Ring Road, they would have turned right- the actual junction would have been only two or three miles down the road! They had gone literally all the way round Manchester to get to this particular junction, which was just about two or three miles away from where they had started.

So the phrase, "every journey begins with a single step" is very, very true, but you can put a caveat with it - that particular step must be in the right direction. I think that is certainly something we need to keep in mind and remember. What I want to do today is continue with the series in Ephesians 6. You will see why the introduction fits into that. Let's read from Ephesians 6:10;

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might [remembering where this armour of God comes from, it is the armour of God, not our own armour]. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil [remember, devil means slanderer - it's the messing around with the very Word of God, it's twisting, slandering what God has said]. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against [wicked spirits] in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth (remember - the belt round your loins that they used to have, which you tucked your robes into and then you were able to walk in a much easier fashion], and having on the breastplate of righteousness [protecting the very vital organs of the heart and the lungs, the heart pumping the blood, and the lungs the air, or even the Spirit as far as the spiritual application]; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;" (Ephesians 6:10-15)

It does not say that you have your feet shod with the Gospel of Peace. It is your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. It's the first step. It's the first few steps. It's the things that we are doing now, but they have got to be heading in the right direction.

So what I want to do today is to show you how long this preparation has actually been going on, because it goes right the way back to the beginning. Also I want to show that what we have today is very much a part within this process of the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. The very good news of the coming peace, the coming World Tomorrow, and the coming Kingdom of God which will actually rule over the World Tomorrow.

It is part of the armour we are given. It gives us the ability to actually focus on something that will defeat Satan and the negative side of things when we find ourselves in the kind of grey days that we all experience. I want to show you how long that preparation has been going on, and also our part within it. The areas I want to go into are:

Certainly the manifestation of the children of God is part of our vision and focus. But right now it is the preparation - what we are doing now, while we are waiting - is what we are concentrating on.

From the Foundation of the World (PLAY FROM 05:07)

Here in Revelation 13, and in verse 8 is a scripture where it talks about the foundation of the world. I want you to notice however, the context of this particular verse. We can start back in Revelation 12:17:

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." (Revelation 12:17)

It finishes that chapter, which is about the Church, and then it goes into Revelation 13 which is Satan's system. Remember that these feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace is part of the very armour of God against Satan. So notice what Revelation 13:1 says:

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea [the sea are the peoples as Revelation 17:15 brings out, so he raised up out of the sea, out of the mass of people that is on the earth], having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." (Revelation 13:1)

Now you can tie this up with Daniel, and we see very clearly how you have Babylon to start off with, and Persia the second head. Three, four, five, and six are the four heads of Greece, and the seventh one is Rome. We are looking at this particular Beast, which is the Gentile Kingdoms. Revelation 13:2:

"And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear [the strongest part of a bear], and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority [the actual authority and the thing behind this Beast was Satan himself]. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." (Revelation 13:2-3)

Now the Roman Empire, the seventh head fell about 476 AD, and then about 554 AD with Justinian, the Holy Roman Empire appeared. You've got the same thing. The head was wounded, but in fact, that beast was still there. Revelation 13:4:

"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months." (Revelation 13:4-5)

Or one thousand two hundred and sixty days, or days to a year; one thousand two hundred and sixty years. You are looking therefore from Justinian in 554 and ending at Napoleon's defeat in 1814. The start of Britain and America, and Ephraim and Manasseh beginning there at that particular time. Revelation 13:6:

"And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." (Revelation 13:6-8)

So part of the preparation of the Gospel of Peace actually occurred right at the foundation of the world. The word foundation is 'katabole' (Strong's 2598), which means to be throwing down. You throw down the rocks that settle the foundation in. But it is also the throwing down of what was God's Government, and allowing the Gentile Kingdoms, all the way from the time Adam chose the way the world was going to go, all the way through to the present. Revelation 13:9:

"If any man have an ear, let him hear [in other words, somebody who can understand these words, because there are only certain people that can]. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints." (Revelation 13:9-10)

So we can see what is happening in the world, and we see it as part of a process. Part of a preparation, if you like, for eventually the Gospel of Peace, where peace will come. Certainly this present evil world that we find ourselves in is part of that process. We know that it is going to get worse. We know the various prophecies that apply to this end time. It talks about a time of trouble, so great as has never been before. But even that is part of a process. The process is ultimately ending with a Gospel of Peace.

It is good news of peace that will be on the earth. It will be peace that will last then for all eternity. Because everybody on earth will have had some kind of exposure to Satan and his way. Even the ones in Millennium will see, after Satan is released for a little time. They will actually see that as well and they will then be able to deal with the people that will be resurrected to physical life after the Millennium. The entirety of mankind will have had that exposure, and it is a preparation for the Gospel of Peace.

And at the foundation of the world, that actually occurred. If you go back to Genesis, chapter 3 and notice here is the Living Word of God speaking to Adam and Eve at this particular time, giving a prophecy about Himself. Genesis 3:13:

"And the [Eternal] God said unto the woman [no man has heard the voice of the Father, so it had to be the One that became Christ], What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat." (Genesis 3:13)

Remember that in Ephesians 6:11 it says; "...that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (Ephesians 6:11) The devil is the slanderer. The devil uses his words, his phraseology to beguile. As it says in Genesis 3:13:

"...The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the [Eternal] God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman..." (Genesis 3:13-15)

It's not just talking about snakes, although obviously snakes are a real problem. I know when we are in certain countries, like Kenya we keep our eyes peeled, it's necessary. Certainly in the Philippines - there was a cobra up a particular tree there. You have got to be aware of that. But it is a type of a spiritual snake. Genesis 3:15:

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman [the woman being the Church], and between thy seed and her seed [the seed of Satan, the actual people that are led by his way, and literally the seed of the Church - the singular seed being Christ]; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15)

It is Christ's heel. He will actually be attacking Christ in that sense. It is all to do with the very way of Satan from this initial throwing down of mankind. This initial foundation of the present evil world, that we find ourself in. That began the process. The fact is, that Christ from that foundation had to be sacrificed. That was the way that it had to be and it was understood that from that point, this entire plan of God had to take place.

Turn over to I John 3:4, and we find here the very purpose of Jesus Christ right at that particular time:

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." (I John 3:4)

That law is the spiritual Law of God. It is what God says. It is the knowledge of good and evil as defined by God. We don't take the knowledge of good and evil to ourself, and try to redefine it. We don't go ahead and break the very Word of God. I John 3:5:

"And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him [is not continually sinning, it is a present progressive Greek word]: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous." (I John 3:5-7)

So this Being that became Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God is a righteous Being, right from the word go. Right from that time and all the way through and during His physical life as well, and now as well, as we walk in the same kind of flesh. I John 3:8:

"He that committeth sin is of the devil [slanderer]; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." (I John 3:8)

This decision came right from the very foundation of the world. The reason why Christ had to be sacrificed was to get rid of Satan and his way, his system and his mindset.

In a war, any kind of war, for instance when that Falklands War took place, I was amazed at how much lead time there had to be. It took several weeks before they had enough arms and equipment and ships ready - and all the various munitions - ready to go down to the Falklands and actually fight the war.

It is not a war between Satan and God, which is how it is depicted by the churches outside. God has allowed this to be the case, but eventually He is going to remove completely, and in its entirety, the way of Satan. And for that, the lead time, the preparation is a good length of time. It is not something that, "Oh well, we just have an afternoon, and we will go ahead and defeat Satan." No, it started from the very foundation of the world. God knew at that point that Christ would have to come, and Christ would have to die.

And therefore, there would have to be a group of people that had been trained, accepting that sacrifice, ready for the retraining of an entire earth through the Millennium. Ready for the resurrection of all those who died previously not knowing Christ, not knowing anything about the Way of God. Not understanding the things of God. Not having the access to that Spirit of God.

Ancient Israel (PLAY FROM 16:19)

God the Father and Christ had determined that Christ would have to come and die for sin. There is not going to be sin in the Kingdom of God. That Kingdom is not a physical thing, it's a spiritual kingdom. Flesh and blood does not inherit the Kingdom of God. It is not some misguided, born-again kind of experience that people have these days. It will be composed of spirit-born sons, but there is a conversion process that is leads up to that.

What God understood is that there was something vitally necessary for that process to be able to take place. The preparation for that Gospel of Peace was that mankind has got to understand something. You don't defeat Satan by having some good thoughts, by ticking various boxes off a list, by deciding that, "OK, we've got the ten commandments, we'll keep the ten commandments." You can do that until you are blue in the face and you will fail, and I will fail. The only one that is good enough to obey God to the degree necessary is God Himself. You have got to become converted for that to take place.

Ancient Israel was used as an example. Here we find a group, or a nation that has got the right pedigree. It goes all the way back to Adam, with the genetic pedigree of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and various people all the way through, and yet without the Spirit of God and without the mind of God guiding the process, as a preparation for the Gospel of Peace they were going to be serving as a bad example. In Deuteronomy 5 we find here after the Law was re-given it says:

"...he added no more. [verse 22 and in verse 28:] And the [Eternal] heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the [Eternal] said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken [they gave the impression they wanted to keep the Word of God, keep the Laws of God, they wanted to go in the Ways of God]. O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!" (Deuteronomy 5:22,28-29)

If only they had the mindset, if only they had the Spirit that was needed. If only the heart had been converted. But God knew - Christ the Living Word at that time understood that this wasn't going to take place and it goes on into Deuteronomy 6:4:

"Hear, O Israel: The [Eternal] our God is one [Eternal]: And thou shalt love the [Eternal] thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might [that is the first commandment Christ clearly identified]. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart [that is what has to be in the very heart of a man]: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." (Deuteronomy 6:4-7)

Continually they should be there guiding everything that takes place. But here Israel is about to be used as a bad example, leading to the preparation of the Gospel of Peace - the time when that would be the case.

Now I don't know how many of you have ever seen any of the management videos that were produced by John Cleese, of the Monty Python videos. After he had done all the various bits and pieces on the humour side, he then went into management training and produced a series of management videos which were very effective. The reason why they were so effective is that they tended to bring out how NOT to do it.

I always remember this particular one that I saw. It was actually shown at one of the ministerial conferences over here. John Cleese was St. Peter, and he was there at the Pearly Gates. This particular manager came up before the Pearly Gates. He said, "Right, you're downstairs." He said, "What do you mean? I've been a good manager." "Oh, no you haven't." He took him through each day, what he did, and what he did wrong and how he completely messed up and how his entire approach was wrong. In fact, "Come and look at what other people were saying behind your back" - that kind of thing.

Here we see in the case of ancient Israel they were there as a bad example, and one that we can go back and look at, and learn from. All these things happened to them as an example for us on whom the ends of the age have come, as Paul said in I Corinthians 10:11. Turn over to Hebrews 3:18:

"And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? [there was a problem with basic belief] So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief." (Hebrews 3:18-19)

They did not trust God to go ahead and convert them the way that we have got to do. The heart wasn't right. It wasn't right before God. They merely had a list of rules. They said, "Oh yes, we'll keep all these rules. We'll tick them off one by one. We will go ahead and do what God says." Hebrews 4:1:

"Let us [that's the Church] therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it [that future rest, into the Millennial rest, into the rest of the very Kingdom of God that will be ruling at that time]. For unto us was the gospel preached..." (Hebrews 4:1-2)

Notice; "For unto us was the gospel preached..." (Hebrews 4:2) That gospel, that preparation of the Gospel of Peace is preached to us. But it is preached to us, as well as to these people of ancient Israel. They had a physical gospel preached to them. They had the physical Government of God preached and given to them. They were given the spiritual laws in a physical setting. Hebrews 4:2:

" well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them [it didn't do any good], not being mixed with faith in them that heard it." (Hebrews 4:2)

There was a problem with the very heart that was receiving those words. Therefore, they were actually going to serve as a bad example. As an example of people that had the laws, had the spiritual laws in front of them. All you have to do is go through the first five books of the Bible. Paul says to Timothy that they are able to make you wise unto salvation (II Timothy 3:15). You are able to go back and see these spiritual laws within those words, but it didn't profit them, because the heart had not turned. The heart was wrong. The heart, as it says here, wasn't mixed with faith by those that heard it. There wasn't faith in the heart, in the core that was there. If you turn to Romans 11:25 we see this also:

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits [he is talking to the Gentiles within the Church in Rome]; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." (Romans 11:25)

It was part of the very plan of God to allow Israel to be blind, to not have that heart that had that faith within it, to be able to stumble in blindness and then the fulness of the Gentiles had to come in. Romans 11:26:

"And so [after this had occurred] all Israel shall be saved [it is all part of the Plan to save Israel ultimately and also the rest of the world as well]: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:" (Romans 11:26)

Ungodliness notice, it is not changing the law. The spiritual law remains the same, but the ungodliness changes! It is part of the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. What actually occurred to Israel was for a purpose, for a reason, so that certain lessons could be learned. What then happens is the Gentiles come into spiritual Israel. It is not all Gentiles, but a certain proportion is there, and they therefore can teach physical Israel. Romans 11:27:

"For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins [it hasn't happened yet, it hasn't been applied, Christ died for sin, but it is only applied on repentance]. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes." (Romans 11:27-28)

In other words, as far as the gospel is concerned, it says; "...they are enemies for your sakes..." (Romans 11:28) In other words, they don't know the truth yet, so that they can go ahead as Gentiles to come into spiritual Israel.

But as far as the election into the future, we are looking at Israel being the model nation that it should have been originally. This time there will be the faith there. This time there will be the Holy Spirit given to them, and this time you can see then the way in which God is able to work. It is all part of this preparation of the Gospel of Peace. Romans 11:29:

"For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy [they haven't believed in Christ, they do not look at the sacrifice of Christ as anything, they look at Christ just as another human being. They are going to be taught by the Israel of God ultimately, and ancient Israel is all part of the plan]. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all." (Romans 11:29-32)

So the job of defeating Satan will be completed. The plan of God will be there. As it says; "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers...against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12) One of the keys, one of the things that makes sure that our footsteps are going in the right direction is this preparation of the Gospel of Peace - of understanding just what it is! Where we are withstanding, and where we are actually walking, and in what direction we walk. We are walking toward that gospel. That good news of peace ultimately, when the whole of mankind will eventually have the truth revealed to them and revealed properly, and Israel is part of that, and is merely one of the stages in the process. Romans 11:32:

"For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! [this whole thing has been planned out from the beginning, from the throwing down, from the foundation of the world] how unsearchable are his judgments..." (Romans 11:32-33)

Judgments, plural. These progressive judgments, the judgment periods. We are being judged within the Church now. The world isn't, Israel isn't, but in the Church we are. Then eventually Israel will be, in the World Tomorrow, and then the rest of the world will be, in the World Tomorrow. Then once there, judgment is to come so that all those who have not had their chance at all right now, they will be resurrected and have their first chance. Romans 11:33:

" unsearachable are his judgments and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? [the Word of God that we understand did not come from us] Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." (Romans 11:33-36)

The result of this, this preparation of the Gospel of Peace, the position that we find here regarding ancient Israel, will go all the way through into eternity. Because it says; "And so all Israel shall be saved..." (Romans 11:26) And also all mankind will be saved, when we put all the scriptures together. It is all part of that plan, it is the preparation that is there.

All life in this world is to do with aversion therapy. I don't know how many of you have smoked. I remember my experiments with smoking as a teenager, and young child. Sometimes the aversion therapy is to get a child and let them smoke. Let them try two cigarettes, one after the other. They get so thoroughly sick, that they will never, ever go and touch another cigarette ever again. To me, I bought one pack of cigarettes, and thought this is ridiculous. That's my money going up in smoke! That was the end of it, I had no real problem with cigarettes. Aversion therapy is very much part of what this entire world is all about.

Jesus Christ (PLAY FROM 31:12)

When we come to Jesus Christ, if we turn over to Luke, chapter 2, we find that the Gospel of Peace is very much part of the prophecies and the things that were said at the time of His birth. Luke 2:11:

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord [the Anointed One, the Lord]. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger [He was in the cattle area, wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a trough that the animals would be eating out of]. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." (Luke 2:11-14)

His very birth physically, into this life is to do with this Gospel of Peace, this good news of peace. Certainly, even when the angels brought the news to the shepherds, at that particular time, they brought that aspect out.

We find in Luke, chapter 4, Christ being tempted by Satan. There are a number of temptations here, but one of the greatest, I would say, would be in verses 5 and 6:

"And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time." (Luke 4:5)

He had a grasp of the entirety of this earth, and what in fact was going on in all the kingdoms, and those kingdoms were being ruled by Satan. He is the prince of the power of the air. He is the god of this world, II Corinthians 4:4 and Ephesians 2:2. Here we see very clearly, this devil, this Satan took Him onto a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world that were there - under his control - in a moment of time. Remember what the word devil means, it means slanderer, he was using his words in a way that was beguiling. The way that beguiled Eve of old, and beguiles us as well. This devil said to Him Luke 4:6:

"And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it [Christ didn't contradict him, that was true. He had just seen all the suffering that was going on in the world at that time, He saw all the problems]. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine." (Luke 4:6-7)

"You just have to do that, and I will go ahead and turn it all over to you. You can have it now. You can have control over this world now. You can put an end to this suffering. It doesn't have to go on anymore. The suffering can stop. You can make a difference". That was a phrase that used to be bandied around in Worldwide, 'make a difference'. "You can do it now. You can get in there and stop it now. You can make a difference now." Luke 4:8:

"And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan [enemy]: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (Luke 4:8)

"I am not about to bow down to you. I am not about to go ahead and take it early." Why? Because He understood that He was part of this preparation of the Gospel of Peace. That those people would eventually have peace. Those people would eventually have what they were all looking for, all wanting. But it was in a plan, it was part of the good news of peace.

There were certain lessons that they needed to learn right now. It wasn't for Christ to go in there and make a difference now. He understood this preparation. He understood His part in it. He walked in the way of that preparation, and He defeated Satan. He walked according to His future role. We find that in Isaiah 42:1, talking about Christ:

"Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles [All these kingdoms that the devil showed Him - He will eventually bring judgment to the Gentiles.]. He shall not cry [while he was a human being], nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break..." (Isaiah 42:1-3)

This was the word of God to Him at that time. He was not to go out there and 'make the difference' at that time, to put right all the wrongs in the world - at that time. He had to allow that to be in the hands of God. He had to understand that this was a preparation for the Gospel of Peace. That there was an aversion therapy that was taking place. Isaiah 42:3:

"A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth [He will make sure that what He does do, eventually will result in what is really needed]. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. [verse 6] I the [Eternal] have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house." (Isaiah 42:3-4,6-7)

Now that is true of us today within the Church. Our eyes have been opened. The veil has been lifted (II Corinthians 3:14). Once the heart turns and the veil is lifted we are able to see the Law and understand the spiritual import of that Law. Do you see, what's being discussed here in Isaiah 42? He is discussing the blind eyes, bringing out the prisoners on a global scale, on a world scale. That same blindness that is being removed from the people that are within God's Church will be applied eventually on a global scale. But all within their own order, all within the way that God once prepared, the preparation of this Gospel of Peace. Isaiah 42:11:

"Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock [Petra, this is a future prophecy] sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory unto the [Eternal], and declare his praise in the islands. The [Eternal] shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war..." (Isaiah 42:11-13)

Here He is now, making a difference. Once He has the power to do it, and He is no longer a human, in the way 'a bruised reed He shall He not break, and the smoking flax shall He not quench'. He is now a Divine Being, born into the very Family of God. Born back into the God Family with those who have also been prepared and ready. The preparation of the Gospel of Peace has taken place, and He is now able to bring peace. Isaiah 42:13:

"The [Eternal] shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies. I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once. I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools. And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them." (Isaiah 42:13-16)

Here we see Christ eventually, bringing in the Gospel of Peace, as the timing will be right. But when He was a human being it was a preparation that He had to focus His mind on, He was preparing for this eventual time. Isaiah 42:21:

"The [Eternal] is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable." (Isaiah 42:21)

Magnifying the law initially within the Church, getting those people ready, that are being prepared for that Gospel of Peace in the future, and then He can also magnify the law within the very hearts of Israel. Israel will then understand, and Israel will then be the model nation that they should have been originally. The other nations roundabout can see Israel and the other nations will therefore also understand. So the Kingdom of God will spread across the earth until the entire earth knows, as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9, Habakkuk 2:14).

Then those people will be used while Satan has been released for a little time, to actually train the others who will then be resurrected. We see this plan. We see this preparation of a Gospel of Peace, and the feet shod are walking day by day, according to that understanding. The Way Christ walked. What would Christ do? Well, a bruised reed He shouldn't break, and the smoking flax shall He not quench. He wasn't there to make the difference now, to try and put the world right now. That is not the purpose. Neither should it be for us, because we are looking for the Gospel of Peace, the good news of peace that will come.

God will bring it, and we have got to be ready for that. It is a spiritual thing. The spirit has got to be put right first. We have to make sure that we have the very character of God there so that we can then be used. Jesus Christ understood this. He combated Satan, when He was tempted by Satan to make a difference now. "I'll give it to you." Christ said "No, no, because it is not the time now." He understood the preparation. He understood He needed to walk the Way and defeat Satan, so that He could then in the future, as it says; "...will I cry like a travailing woman..." (Isaiah 42:14) He goes ahead and sorts out the mess that is there. If we just remind ourselves also of Luke 22:39:

"And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me [He did not want to go through what He was about to endure, He knew the prophecies, He knew what it said in Psalm 22, He understood what was about to happen. He could see what was said in Isaiah]: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." (Luke 22:39-44)

His drops of sweat had blood within them, because He was in so intense concentration. For three hours He did this. Always, putting Himself under God and under this preparation of the Gospel of Peace. This had been decided from the foundation of the world, from the foundation of this age. It had to be that there was a Saviour that had to be sacrificed. Therefore, when He realized and understood that there was no other way, and He had to go through with it, He was calm and He went through it as our Saviour.

This was Jesus Christ, the One that went before us. He had His mind focused. While He was walking, His feet were shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. He knew His place. He knew the place of the Church. He knew what had happened earlier on with ancient Israel. He knew the plan, what was about to happen. He could, therefore, look right down through time, to a time when He would be able to sort things out. He therefore submitted Himself to the Father, even to the point of the stake.

Our Studentship (PLAY FROM 44:28)

Now as far as we are concerned, we find ourself in a similar place, although nothing like Christ did in actually having to face the crucifixion. Our studentship, our discipleship, is very much concerned with this preparation of the Gospel of Peace. Our feet are indeed to be shod, and because of that we are able to combat Satan, and are able to walk in the right direction. Isaiah 52:7:

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings [good news, gospel], that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" (Isaiah 52:7)

It is very clear that in writing Ephesians 6, Paul is referring back to this specific verse to a large degree. The mind of Christ that inspired this verse in Isaiah 52 also inspired Paul to write what he said in Ephesians 6. That verse is quoted in Romans 10 and I want you to notice the context:

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? ..." (Romans 10:14)

Remember what we read in Hebrews? It was disbelief that was the basic problem with ancient Israel. It is because of that, that they weren't able to understand the spiritual aspects of the Law of God. Romans 10:14:

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they are ['apostalised'? The word sent is 'apostello' Strong's (649), unless they are specifically sent with the word of God] as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel..." (Romans 10:14-16)

They have not all been obedient to that word. Turn over to James chapter 3, where it is talking about not being many teachers, not many masters - like headmaster - as they will receive the greater condemnation. It goes on to talk about the wisdom that is from above, in James 3:17:

"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (James 3:17)

I bring that out several times, but it is absolutely vital to understand that. It has got to be as God has defined, as God has said. It is first pure, then it can be peaceable. So when we go back to Isaiah 52:7 and see:

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" (Isaiah 52:7)

That word that comes across to Zion, has got to be pure. That is the only way that peace will then follow. As we have just seen over in Romans 10 where this specific verse is quoted. It says, "Look, how can the one preach unless they are actually sent?" And the word sent is apostle.

Now when you start to understand that the context of this particular verse here in Isaiah 52:7 is regarding our studentship and our discipleship, turn back to Isaiah 51:7 and you come back to the passage that we have on the website:

"Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law..." (Isaiah 51:7)

Why is that word in the heart? It says in Isaiah 51:16:

"And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens [looking right down into the future, this is the preparation of the Gospel of Peace, planting the very heavens with that peace], and lay the foundations of the earth [in the Millennium, getting that peace ready for the resurrection eventually and the Great White Throne Judgment period], and [also] say unto Zion [now], Thou art my people." (Isaiah 51:16)

You are not somebody else's people! Not somebody else that you can go off and learn whatever you like! You are the people that have been called specifically by God. You are the people who have had certain revelation given to you by God. That revelation, as Paul brings out in Romans 10:15:

"And how shall they preach, except they be sent [specifically by God]? ..." (Romans 10:15)

And as brought out in James 3:17: "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure [it has got to be pure], then [it is] peaceable..." (James 3:17)

It first must be pure, it's got to be pure, then you can have the peace. Then continuing in Isaiah 51:16 it talks about Jerusalem. Why Jerusalem? Here are people around the true Church, to do with the true Church. But as you will see in Isaiah 51:21:

"Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:" (Isaiah 51:21)

Matthew 24:49 talks about eating and drinking with the drunken, here is this Church, that is drunken, but not with wine. Isaiah 51:22

"Thus saith [ your] Lord the [Eternal], and [your] God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again [when you are looking at Laodicea, they will eventually drink that, but ultimately they will cease to drink it]: But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over." (Isaiah 51:22-23)

"Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean. Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion [you captive daughter of Zion, not Zion, but the one that is associated with Zion]. For thus saith the [Eternal], Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money. For thus saith the Lord [Eternal], My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause." (Isaiah 52:1-4)

The oppression comes from the Assyrian, who will oppress God's people. That is the prophecy we always understood that is coming very shortly during the Tribulation. Isaiah 52:5:

"Now therefore, what have I here, saith the [Eternal], that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the [Eternal]; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. Therefore my people shall know my name [my authority - they will understand they are the people of God]: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I [it is not somebody else]. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings [the gospel]..." (Isaiah 52:5-7)

Where did the gospel come from? It didn't come from a human being. That human being was sent. And spiritual Israel that goes into the Tribulation is going to have to understand that. They are going to have to get to that understanding. To know that this Word that they had, and looked upon lightly, that brings good tidings, was given to them by one who was sent. Isaiah 52:7

"...that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! [as it says in Isaiah 51:16 to Zion, you are my people, I reign over you, that is the Church, the Spiritual Zion] Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the [Eternal] shall bring again Zion." (Isaiah 52:7-8)

Eventually, there will be a Church as one Church that will be protected. The watchmen that are currently there will in fact be together. Isaiah 52:9:

"Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the [Eternal] hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The [Eternal] hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations [it makes you wonder if He is actually making a reference to 'Arm - strong', made bare means to make strong His holy arm, He is about to use it]; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God." (Isaiah 52:9-10)

The Fulfilment of the Gospel of Peace (PLAY FROM 54:47)

Here is the result of it. Isaiah 52:11:

"Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the [Eternal]." (Isaiah 52:11)

You are My people. You are the ones that are called by My Name. Why have I put the Word in your mouth? So that you understand these things. He is going on from what He says in Isaiah 51. Isaiah 52:12:

"For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the [Eternal] will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your [rearguard]. (Isaiah 52:12)

You have got to hold onto that word, remembering it is His feet that brings the good tiding, that publishes peace. What is it all about? It says; "...I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I." (Isaiah 52:6) It is not just any person, it is God. He revealed the truth. God revealed the truth. The One that became Jesus Christ revealed the truth.

Turn to Philippians, chapter 3. "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do..." (Philippians 3:13) ,

Remember, it is the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. You can see what is in the future, but right now we have got to prepare. And we prepare with the Words that have been given to us, holding fast onto those Words. We will be then going in the right direction, with our feet properly shod. Philippians 3:13:

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," (Philippians 3:13)

How many of us don't do that? How many of us look backwards? If we've got problems and difficulties and worries and apprehensions and all the rest of it, where is it coming from? It is not coming from something in the future, but whatever is in our mind from before. He says; "...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," (Philippians 3:13) Putting into our mind the things of the future - the preparation for the Gospel of Peace and understanding our place in that process. Philippians 3:14:

"I press [I strive] toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you." (Philippians 3:14-15)

In other words, you have had the revelation so far and God will continue to reveal to you what you need. If you are going to need a different perspective on things, then He will work with you. And He will work with you in such a way that you will be forced to look forward, because that is the way we have got to go. Philippians 3:16:

"Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing [let us have this preparation of the Gospel of Peace, with our feet shod with it, walking, taking the steps necessary, and looking forward all the time and not looking backwards]. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) [they have not got their focus on the future, their focus is purely on physical things] For our [conduct] is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ [we don't go to heaven, but He comes from heaven]: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." (Philippians 3:16-21)

That is what we are looking forward to. We are looking forward to the Gospel of Peace with a power within our very bodies to implement it. Christ spurned the temptation of "...All these things I will give thee, if thou wilt [just] fall down and worship me." (Matthew 4:9) He had His mind firmly on the future. He knew that for the time being, a smoking flax He wouldn't quench, a bent reed He wouldn't break. But He knew where the future was going to lead, and that right now is a preparation of that gospel.

It is interesting that even carnal human beings have a certain wisdom in this area. I read a book many, many years ago called 'The Lazy Man's Way To Riches', written by Joe Karbo. The latter half was about direct advertising and direct mail, but the first half was a "how to pull yourself up by your bootstraps" concept and philosophy. Here is one of the things that he suggested that we do:

"The daily declarations: If you want to actually get a goal of some description, the process of actually acquiring all these things begins with daily declarations. And here is how they are undertaken;

1) Each morning, immediately upon awakening, read your list of goals as prepared in their positive, accomplished form."

What are we supposed to be doing? We are supposed to be getting our Bibles out and reading them. But there is more to it than that. As we go on, when we read about the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, it is actually meditative Bible Study, because he says here:

"Read everyone of them. Read it out loud if at all possible. If this can't be done, then move your lips and form the words silently as you read. This adds another physical dimension to the intellectual declaration." And this is all for pure carnal goals.

2) "After you have read each declaration, pause, visualize it completely. In your minds eye, see the car, the home, the office with your name on the door. Touch the steering wheel, walk through the door, feel the money from that first paycheck in your hand - in cash. Count it. See each bill and know each denomination and drool."

3) "So each evening before you retire, no matter how late it is, no matter how tired you are, repeat the morning process."

That is how goal setting works for people in the world. When I was working in the insurance industry, I knew people who did exactly that and they became very rich. This was back in the early 80's. and they were earning at that time probably the equivalent of around half a million today. These guys were just working alongside me. My wife said, "Why didn't you earn that much?" I didn't drool and do all the rest of it that you find there. It wasn't everything in my life. But here it says Philippians 3:13:

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark..." (Philippians 3:14-15)

Why? How? Because you think, you meditate about the things that are coming. You press toward the mark in the future. That is where our focus is, that is where our mind is. If we turn over to Hebrews 11:13 we find that there are some other people as well, who had this same approach, and they pressed towards the mark:

"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth." (Hebrews 11:13)

This earth is merely a preparation for the Gospel of Peace - that is why it exists. That is why this present evil world is here. It is a preparation for the Gospel of Peace. It is the bit that we push against day in and day out, and these people had to push against it. They embraced them and confessed that they were only strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Hebrews 11:14:

"For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country [they have declarations, as I read from that book]. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly [one that is coming down from on high, from God]: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city." (Hebrews 11:14-16)

Indeed that is the case, and that is what these people in faith were focusing on. They weren't necessarily all wealthy. Some, like Abraham were very wealthy, but they all without exception went ahead and pushed forward for that Gospel of Peace. They understood that the world that they were in was a preparation for that future, but at the present time their feet were shod with that preparation, day in and day out, walking in a certain way. What they were looking forward to was the fulfilment of that Gospel of Peace, the very rule by the Kingdom of God. Turn to Nahum 1:15:

"Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tiding [good news, here is the gospel again], that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off." (Nahum 1:15)

Here we find this particular verse alluding to the verse that we've read earlier on, back in Isaiah 52, and we might think why is it in Nahum? How often do you read Nahum? Let's just have a look at a bit of the context, because in bad times the vision of the Kingdom of God, and the vision of that Gospel of Peace is going to allow us to walk. Here in Nahum 1:1 it says:

"The burden of Nineveh [Assyria, the Germans, that's what we are looking at]. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. God is jealous, and the [Eternal] revengeth; the [Eternal] revengeth, and is furious; the [Eternal] will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies [you are looking at, remember, Assyria] [verse 5:] The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him." (Nahum 1:1-2,5-6)

This is the end time. This isn't talking about the past and the Assyria that put Israel in captivity back in 721 BC. It says in Nahum 1: 11:

"There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the [Eternal], a wicked counsellor." (Nahum 1:11)

Every indication is that this wicked counsellor, the one that comes out of Assyria, out of Nineveh is the Beast! And it goes into this next section here. Notice in Nahum 3:4:

"Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts. Behold, I am against thee [who is behind this Beast power that we read over in Revelation 13? It is Satan that gives him his power], saith the [Eternal] of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame. And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock. (Nahum 3:4-6)

"...I will cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy [utterly]." (Isaiah 42:14) When Christ actually intervenes, this is the one that He will first attack and destroy utterly and completely. As it says in Nahum 3:18:

"Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them [they are going to be just like dung upon the hills]. There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit [or the report] of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?" (Nahum 3:18-19)

This is the fulfilment of the bad time...the destruction of the beast power that is there. It is interesting that in this section, we find in Nahum 1:15:

"Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! ..." (Nahum i:15)

In the midst of this horrendous time, when the destruction of Assyria will take place, one is publishing peace. One is saying, "Look, this is all part of the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. It is all part of the plan, it is all what is necessary."

Out of interest during the Second World War, what did Vera Lynn sing? What kind of songs were they singing? "There'll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover, tomorrow, just you wait and see...The shepherd will tend his sheep... and Jimmy will go to sleep in his own little room again." Always looking forward to the future. That was what kept up the morale of the troops and general population; looking forward to the future. Here, we find exactly the same thing in Nahum. We find looking forward to a fulfilment of a Gospel that publishes that Peace. The reason for all of this that is taking place. Go back to Daniel 2:44:

"And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed [it is a Kingdom of Peace, a gospel, a good news of the Kingdom of Peace]: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." (Daniel 2:44)

Who was this being addressed to? To Nebuchadnezzar, as it says; "...Thou art this head of gold." (Daniel 2:38) You are the start of this system. This axial period occurred just before Babylon actually rose. It has lasted all the way through. In Revelation 13 we find all these different heads of Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome. It lasts right until the very return of Jesus Christ. At that time, in the days of these kings - the ten toes of this image - shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, and it shall never be destroyed. It shall never be given to anybody else.

While we are looking at this time, what do we have to do? We are going to have our feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace to combat what Satan will throw at us, the same way Christ did. The same way Christ said, "Look, I'm not about to go ahead and start trying to do things now." Because, we understand that this Gospel of Peace will come. It will come eventually, because we know scriptures such as Isaiah 9:6:

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace [that is what Christ will bring when He finally cries like a travailing woman, and comes and destroys utterly]. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the [Eternal] of hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:6-7)

That is the fulcrum. That is the view that we must have. That is the focal point. That is what we are looking forward to. Turn back to Isaiah 2:1:

"The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the [Eternal's] house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it." (Isaiah 2:1-2)

What is being given here - A vision for Judah and Jerusalem? This is looking forward into the future, into this Gospel of Peace, this time of peace. It is the focus that Judah and Jerusalem, and Zion is going to have to have. That Judah and Jerusalem is going to have to have as they go through the tribulation and Zion - the Church - is going to have to have right now. Isaiah 2:3:

"And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the [Eternal], to the house of the God of Jacob [to the Government of God, to this Gospel of Peace that will come out of that Government, out of that rule]; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the [Eternal] from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." (Isaiah 2:3-4)

That is the Gospel of Peace. The good news of the Kingdom of God and rulership by the family of God over the earth initially, out into eternity eventually. Nobody is going to learn war anymore. The entirety of the war academies will be destroyed. The books and everything else will go - they won't exist anymore. Isaiah 2:5:

"O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the [Eternal]." (Isaiah 2:5)

If we are walking in God's way, if we are combating Satan's way, we have got to look forward with the light of the Eternal under our feet. That is what we are looking at in chapter 6 of Ephesians. That our feet are indeed shod with our preparation of the Gospel of Peace.
