Israel Yesterday, Today, Forever - Part 3

by Jon Bowles

In the paper last Monday, there was an article about the probate records that were released last week for a certain individual. There was an article that appeared with a title that said; 'Bored Lottery Winner Drank Himself To Death'.

It said; "The nine-million-pound lottery winner became so bored after giving up his job that he drank himself to death. Keith Gough who was 58, a former baker of Bridgnorth, Shropshire who became addicted to alcohol, died of a heart attack brought on by excessive drinking and stress. Mr Gough claimed in an interview last year that his life had been ruined by his lottery win. He said, 'Without routine in my life, I started to spend, spend, spend and in the end, I was just plain bored. Before the win, all I would drink was some wine with a meal and I used to be popular. But I've driven away all my friends. I don't trust anyone any more and when I see somebody going into a newsagent, I advise them not to buy a lottery ticket.'"

It's interesting when you read an article like that. Here is somebody with nine million pounds, which is an awful lot of money as far as I'm concerned and most people in this world are concerned. Yet, what was it? What did it actually gain him? It actually gained him nothing.

Turn over to Hebrews 12 and here, right after the faith chapter, it goes on and says:

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us [it's talking about our race in this life and the things we need to be doing in this life], Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy [notice; - the JOY!] that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1-2)

It is interesting when you consider that, it was for the joy that was set before Him that He despised the shame and was sat down at the right hand of God. He put up with the suffering that He went through.

In the past, I have looked at that verse and have always thought that the joy that was set before Him was the fact that He was going to come back and be the King of kings and Lord of lords, and all the glory that entailed. But, I wonder if that was really the case because you see, what was Christ? His very name means the Anointed One. Now if you look at places like Matthew 4 and Luke 4 where it talks about the trials that Satan threw at Him, in the final trial Satan showed Him all the various kingdoms of the world, and said; "...All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." (Matthew 4:9). That was the final and the greatest trial that was actually thrown at Him.

We've come to understand that it's not just the glory that was going to be there, but the joy that was set before Him was the joy that He was going to be able to impart to other people, to be able to give to other people in this world and be able to sort out the problems of this world. It was a giving, outgoing, loving, frame of mind.

Satan was attacking Him in the very area that He was strongest in. In the same way, Christ looked towards that joy, looked towards the fact that He would as the great Creator God, as the One who would be over the very Kingdom of God under the Father, would be able to administer the Government of God which is a loving, kind and outgoing government to to all mankind. To give to all mankind through the entirety of the Millennium and into the very Great White Throne Judgement and out into eternity.

It is very much the lesson of Israel. It's also the lesson of the Two Trees because it's the difference between give and get. Christ's mindset was one of giving.

Here is this lottery winner whose mindset was one of getting. He suddenly got nine million pounds and was going to go ahead and buy this, buy that, buy the other thing. He came to the end of it and he looked at what he actually had, and he had nothing. There was nothing there. It says; "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over..." (Luke 6:38). He didn't believe that. He thought the way to happiness was to get, grab and take as much as he possibly could of life. Yet, five years later he was dead. He had drunk himself to death.

So, the lesson of Israel is also very much the lesson of the Two Trees as we have been bringing out in this series of sermons about Israel yesterday, today and forever. The fact is, that Israel was a lesson to us all. You cannot be thinking one way and then declare you are going to go in another way. Exodus 24:7:

"...All that the [Eternal] hath said will we do, and be obedient." (Exodus 27:7)

But the heart hadn't changed and the great lesson of Israel is the fact that if that heart doesn't change, it doesn't matter about all the good intentions in the world, as you are going to go in a totally different way. The way of get and the way of give are going in two different directions. The Law of God, the thinking of God, the name God is, the mind of God; you can't be keeping the Law physically yet having a mind that is going against that Law. It doesn't work that way. That is the lesson of Israel, the lesson of spiritual and physical Israel, our calling, the lesson from the Two Trees, the lesson of Adam and Eve. This is the lesson all the way through.

So today we will have the final conclusion of this series about Israel forever, because this is THE lesson that has got to be learned. It has got to be learned and then taken into eternity. It has got to be taken into eternity by the Church and Spiritual Israel. The areas I want to go into are:

Recap (PLAY FROM 07:36)

So, lets recap; we've talked about Israel yesterday and Israel today and I played a tape on something that I had actually given about five or six years ago about the identity of physical Israel. Then last week I talked about spiritual Israel.

The fact is that physical Israel had the breeding. It had the breeding of Noah who was perfect in his generations. Abraham who was righteous and had faith in God and walked with God. Isaac and Jacob - these individuals are going to be in the very Kingdom of God. It's got the breeding of The Christ, Himself, because Christ came from Judah, came from this lineage. So, this Individual who was perfect, managed to live a perfectly sinless human life and yet, He had the same breeding.

They had land. They had the land of milk and honey, a hugely excellent land. It wasn't the Israel that you find today, the Palestine that you see today, which is the Judean wilderness. It had trees and woodland and really productive agricultural land. There was a great deal of wealth in that land. They had cities that they had never built and wells that they had never dug and so on.

It was to be a kingdom of priests. It was given the very Law of God. And then when you go over to Deuteronomy 4:5 you find this phrase that the One who became Jesus Christ uses towards Israel, He says:

"Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the [Eternal] my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it [here is Moses talking to Israel]. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom.." (Deuteronomy 4:5-6)

It is even pointed out that this spiritual law that was given to them is the wisdom. That's where it's at. It wasn't as if it was hidden from them. In fact, if you go through Deuteronomy, and just make a note of the actual laws and the sections that talk about laws and the sections that talk about reinforcing - saying, "do this, do that," and urging them and pointing them in the direction they need to go, then you will find that pointing them in the direction they need to go is far more extensive than specific laws. Specific laws are relatively small, but the pointing, the urging, the exhortation is constant throughout the Book of Deuteronomy.

"...this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations [they were to be an example], which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people." (Deuteronomy 4:6)

They were going to be this example nation - if they were able to keep the laws, but God knew. If we go to Deuteronomy 29:2 it says:

"And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the [Eternal] did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land; The great [trials] which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles [they had seen all of these things]: Yet the [Eternal] hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day." (Deuteronomy 29:2-4)

So, all these things occurred right in front of their eyes. To a rational mind, it should have taught them a lesson about spiritual subjects, but it didn't because the understanding, the Spirit was not there. The spirit had not changed. This was the huge lesson that was vital for not just them to learn, but every single human being that comes into existence to learn ultimately. Without that Spirit, without the Mind of God, the Character of God being there, you cannot go ahead and go down a route to keep God's Law. You cannot do one way - the way of give - and think the other way, the way of get; it is impossible. So when you go into Deuteronomy 30:19 it says:

"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the [Eternal] thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest [stick] unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the [Eternal] sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them." (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)

So, there is the heredity. He is urging them - He says; "Do this." Yet even when He was saying that, notice what He says in Deuteronomy 31:16:

"And the [Eternal] said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them." (Deuteronomy 31:16)

He knew that they wouldn't do that. Why? Because He knew that you cannot get a mind that is thinking one way, to go a different way. The mind has got to be converted. The mind has got to be changed. The heart has got to turn. If that heart doesn't turn, you cannot get the physical results out of it. It just doesn't work that way! Down in Deuteronomy 31:19:

"Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel." (Deuteronomy 31:19)

So, this physical nation needs this song that is written here, and it will actually be sung by the saints, during the seven last plagues in the future, because this is the lesson - writ large. Deuteronomy 31:29:

"For I know that after my death [this is Moses speaking because he had already been instructed by God, the One that became Jesus Christ] ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the [Eternal], to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands." (Deuteronomy 31:29)

So, here God knew, Moses knew. "This is your wisdom"; this Spiritual Law is the wisdom. But because the mind, the heart, the core, the thinking was going in an opposite direction they couldn't keep it. They simply could not keep it. Put in your notes Genesis 48:16:

"The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." (Genesis 48:16)

We went into this in a sermon that I gave a few years ago. The fact that; "...let my name be named on them..." (Genesis 48:16). Jacob was speaking of Ephraim and Manasseh. We see that even during the time of the tribulation, it's going to be; "...the time of Jacob's trouble..." (Jeremiah 30:7). So, Israel was understood.

It's interesting, this name that is actually named on them, the name of Israel. What does Israel mean? It means God prevails. But, it means more than that. It means God's Power, the Power of God. You prevail by having God's Power. And this is the lesson writ large; that these people were trying to prevail under their own power and their own human steam. It doesn't work that way. You can't go one way, thinking a different way. You have got to have God's Power, the very Spirit of God within you in order to keep the Spiritual Law of God. Without that power, it is impossible. It doesn't work that way. You might do it for a while, but eventually you will fall down.

So, another group of individuals were called and in I Corinthians 1:26, we find this other group, a very, very different group. No heredity necessarily, no breeding, no looking back to Abraham in a physical sense. They don't have land, they don't have lands of milk and honey or the wealth and cities. They are not a natural kingdom of priests. They didn't even know about the Law of God before they were called. Yet it says:

"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise [this is part of the lesson, here is Spiritual Israel]; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence." (I Corinthians 1:26-29)

This is all part of the lesson that has got to be writ large to mankind. Israel, Spiritual Israel, and the contrast between these two groups is part of that lesson; a vital part of that lesson. It says in I Corinthians 2:9:

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?..." (I Corinthians 2:9:11)

You can't teach calculus, you can't teach simple mathematics to a cow. You can stand there until you are blue in the face. You can look at the cow, look into his eyes, if there is anything there at all, and you cannot teach mathematics to a cow. It doesn't work that way. I Corinthians 2:11:

"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." (I Corinthians 2:11)

If the Spirit of God isn't there, it doesn't matter how many laws you give. It doesn't matter what breeding you have. It doesn't matter what land you have or the wealth in that land and calling them a kingdom of priests. They are not going to go in the right direction. I Corinthians 2:12:

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God [they've got the spirit of the world, we, within the Church have got the Spirit of God; this group of not many wise, not many noble, that no flesh should glory in His presence]; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.." (I Corinthians 2:12-14)

We've have got to have this conversion take place. Without the conversion to a spiritual frame of mind, to the impregnation of the very Spirit of God, you cannot grasp spiritual things.

Think back to the Garden of Eden and Eve and what in fact happened there. What should have happened? What should Eve have done when Satan showed up, when this broadcast suddenly came from this serpent? Did he actually literally come down as a serpent and then literally talk to her, or did the broadcast of the serpent?

Mr Armstrong said, "Well it says there were two trees, therefore there must have been two trees." It said there was a serpent, then there must have been a serpent. But effectively what he was doing was broadcasting - the same as he does now, broadcasting.

So, what should she have done? Should she have taken of the tree? The answer is 'yes' she should have taken of the tree, but not that one! That's the difference. She should have taken, at that time, of the Tree of Life. She should have gone to the Tree of Life and said to herself, "All of the trees of the garden, I can freely eat, and this is the special one, I know this one. Go and grab some of fruit of that and eat that fruit." If she had done that, she would have countered Satan. If she had done that at the time when she was being tempted, the whole of humanity would have been different.

But that is not what actually happened. You see, as we will go on and talk about the Bride of Christ, a godly marriage is a three-way union. It is not just two individuals, it's three individuals. There is God in there as well because both husband and wife are plugged into the vine, plugged into God. Therefore, it gives them the spiritual things that are necessary to have that union.

It is interesting, what happened as soon as she took the tree? Their eyes were opened and they knew that they were naked. Christ asked.."who told you you were naked?" That destroyed the link up to God. But if she had just simply gone ahead and done what she should have done, which was to have taken of the other tree, of the very Spirit of God, the very Mind of God, then things would have been different.

Millennial Israel (PLAY FROM 21:29)

So when we come to the Millennial rule and the physical Israel and Jerusalem - a converted physical Israel - turn back to Romans 9 and let's have a look as we go into this second point now. Here is the problem as far as physical Israel is concerned. Paul was talking about the physical Israel he was dealing with, which was the Jewish religion and a Pharisaical religion that they had:

"What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness [they were trying to go in one direction, but their minds and hearts were going in a different direction]. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." (Romans 9:30-33)

You go and get the past sins cleaned up and then have Christ - through the Spirit of God - living in us, then we can go forward. Romans 10:1:

"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God [they have not submitted themselves in repentance, to unreservedly give themselves to God and unreservedly put themselves under the Government of God]. For Christ is the end [point, focal point] of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." ( Romans 10:1-4)

So, if we believe then the conversion process begins. The conversion process will then take us from being human and take us to being what Christ was, which was God in the flesh. God in the flesh. You have got to believe that that can be done! If you don't believe that it can be done, then how can it? You can't do it. We can't do it ourselves. Romans 10:5:

"For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) [To bring this God in the flesh from above or from some other place] Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) [Go and try and have this righteousness that way] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;" (Romans 10:5-8)

"...for this is your wisdom..." (Deuteronomy 4:6) Christ said. It's the word of faith that we preach. Romans 10:9:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Now people have used that verse and quote it completely out of context and do not then continue to the next verse which explains what it means. Saying, "Oh well, that's all you've got to do." Just kind of say the word "Jesus" and you've got this magical word that then whisks you off to heaven. "No!" Romans 10:10:

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness..." (Romans 10:10)

If you believe that He is risen from the dead, then that same power, the very Spirit of God - because the word 'Christ' is the 'Anointed One'- the same power is inside us and it therefore converts us to righteousness. It allows us to be righteous, to become righteous, to do what is right. Romans 10:10:

"...and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:10)

So what then starts coming out of the mouth "is made to salvation". What we speak, what actually comes out of our mouths, is the kind of thing that would come out of Christ's mouth. Because if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus - what comes out of the mouth is the same as what comes out of Christ's mouth. You don't sin with your mouth and you don't sin with your body. You live a righteous, holy life. Perfect, holy, righteous character. It takes belief in God; belief that this Creator can create that righteousness in human flesh so that we can be like our elder brother, Jesus Christ. Like our husband-to-be, Jesus Christ. He goes into Romans 11:1 and it says:

"I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid..." (Romans 11:1)

He doesn't cast away His people. It says in Romans 11:7:

"What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded. (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day." (Romans 11:7-8)

It was deliberately designed that way because God wants to get across the point, you can't be a certain way, and yet do something else which is totally the opposite; that is not possible. You can't go one way, the way of give, and believe another, which is the way of get. It just isn't possible. Yet, the word 'Israel' means God prevails. It means the Power of God. It is God's Power that allows that to actually take place. In Romans 11:11 it says:

"I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. [Verse 15] For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? [Verse 23] And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again" (Romans 11:11,15,23)

Notice in verse 32 as to when this takes place;

"For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all." (Romans 11:32)

So, grafting them in, they will all be grafted in again. Therefore, it has got to be a resurrection from the dead. It has got to be a resurrection for all those who have not known. Romans 11:24:

"For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion [that is the Church] the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins." (Romans 11:24-27)

So, eventually when we are looking at the Millennial rule of Jesus Christ and Millennial Israel, physical Israel will be converted. They will be converted at that particular time. Romans 11:28

"As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance [He's not changing His mind, He's had this idea for a very long time, this idea is part of His plan]. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy." (Romans 11:28-31)

So, that we as Zion as the Bride of Christ in the future, with Israel, a converted physical Israel initially - as the example to the world - will begin the very Kingdom of God, the Government of God. Then it will go on into the future through the resurrection and the Great White Throne Judgement. They again will be brought back into the land and for the first time will actually understand this vital lesson that you can't go and keep the Laws of God - which are spiritual - with a carnal, physical mind that is led by the nose by Satan.

What you have got to do when you give them the opportunity to take of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you reject that tree and go and take the other tree. That is the lesson you and I have got to understand and it's a lesson that will go on throughout eternity. That's the lesson! It's a lesson right from the Garden of Eden forward. Romans 11:31:

"Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all [this model nation that's going to be in the future, at the beginning of the Kingdom of God, at the beginning of the Millennium]. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?" (Romans 11:31-34)

Paul gives the impression that he is dumb-struck at what he has just actually said, because this is all part of the plan for that model nation. Turn over to II Corinthians 3:6, he talks here:

"Who also hath made us able ministers [or qualified ministers or administrators] of the new [covenant] testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." (II Corinthians 3:6)

He is talking in the context of this person caught in fornication with his father's wife, who then repented. The blood of Christ covered the sin and therefore the letter would have said he would have to be executed with the woman as well. But, because the blood covered the sin, it is not according to the letter. It is according to the spirit and intent because the spirit and intent is to give life. It goes on then in II Corinthians 3:14:

"But their minds [talking of Israel] were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail [well after the death of Christ, well after the beginning of the Church] untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart [they can't see; "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him..." (John 6:44) ] Nevertheless when it [the heart] shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord [we are looking at this image of Christ], are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (II Corinthians 3:14-18)

That Spirit working in us converts us and changes us then to the same image as Christ, Himself.

Now, if we go back to Ezekiel 36:24 when we are looking at this Millennial Israel, right into the Great White Throne Judgement period, here we find Ezekiel mentioning about the new spirit that is going to be there:

"For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:24-26)

Now this is both the Israel who is going to be resurrected, because it goes into the Valley of Dry Bones next; and also from the Valley of Dry Bones, you are looking backwards to the time when Israel first becomes this model nation in the Millennial rule. Ezekiel 36:26:

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them." (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

So, here we see this Spirit of God being given to Israel for the very first time, apart from those that are specifically hand-picked by God. Go over a couple of pages into Ezekiel 39:23. And remember you are looking from the Valley of Dry Bones backwards in time, so you are looking now to the time here at the beginning of the Millennium:

"And the [nations] heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword. According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them. Therefore thus saith the Lord [Eternal]; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob [will return them], and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name; After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid. When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;" (Ezekiel 39:23-27)

There is your model nation. Ezekiel 39:28:

"Then shall they know that I am the [Eternal] their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there. Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord [Eternal]." (Ezekiel 39:28-29)

The Spirit of God is then poured out and they are able to understand for the first time, this Way of God. Not just hear the Word, but actually understand that Word because it's a Spiritual Law.

It's interesting, in an article in March 1981 of 'The Plain Truth', just literally a few months before Anwar Sadat was murdered, Mr Armstrong had been down to talk with Anwar Sadat and also Menachem Begin and the article was called 'Mt. Sinai/Jerusalem Now Foreshadow World Peace.' 'Mt. Sinai/Jerusalem Now Foreshadow World Peace.' In other words, the two leaders were in fact cooperating together. He talks about:

"Humans were created and put on earth to BUILD PERFECT CHARACTER. To produce, to accomplish, to create abundance, and to do it in peace, happiness and joy."

This is what the example is going to be in the future with Israel, the physical nation.

"The purpose of government [this is where we come in, as Spiritual Israel who will be over physical Israel at that time] is to regulate the behavior and performance of people in this 'give' way – to prevent the self-centered greedy or hostile from stepping on the true rights of others – to guide those subject to the government into the way of 'GIVE'."

So, this is the government as kings and priests. This is the kingly part of it.

"The real purpose of education [there's your priestly part of it because that is again part of the priest's job] is to educate the mind in this way of 'GIVE' and all the tools needed for that purpose – the tools of reading, speaking, writing, figuring mathematically, the accumulation of needed knowledge to this same end. But how woefully educators have missed the mark! They educate, beginning with five and six-year olds, in false values, worthless goals, wrong incentives, all from an utterly false, materialistic approach."

So, the education has got to be sorted out. He goes on:

"The entire purpose and meaning of religion is to bring humanity into the way of 'GIVE' – to rescue us from 'GET', which is the way of SIN."

Again, there's your priests' role. Here is Spiritual Israel - both Kings and Priests:

"All our human troubles and evils have been caused by the 'GET' motive. The ways of 'GIVE' and 'GET' are spiritual in nature. The way of 'GIVE' is a SPIRITUAL LAW, set in relentless motion by the Creator, as inexorable as the law of gravity. Break that law and it will break you!" 'Mt. Sinai/Jerusalem Now Foreshadow World Peace.'

Now that is what is needed by the world as a whole. That is what is going to be needed by Israel individually when they first start in the Millennium. The Spiritual Israel, it says; "By your mercy, you will give unto them." (Romans 11:30-31 paraphrased). This is what you will give to them. This is what you and I will be giving to these people. You will be giving these two ways of life, and to understand what happened in the Garden of Eden where Satan comes along and says; "God says you can't eat of ALL the trees in the garden. Is that fair?" Eve should have gone ahead and said "Yes, I can take of the trees, and this is the tree I'm taking." And taken the Tree of Life and then there wouldn't have been a problem. Yet Isaiah 30:21:

"...This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand..."(Isaiah 30:21)

Here in Ezekiel 37, notice again what will happen where it talks about the Valley of Dry Bones:

"And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the [Eternal]." (Ezekiel 37:6)

There is the relationship back to God again. In Ezekiel 37:11:

"Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord [Eternal]; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel [they will be taught, this is the Great White Throne Judgement]. And ye shall know that I am the [Eternal], when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the [Eternal] have spoken it, and performed it, saith the [Eternal]." (Ezekiel 37:11-14)

So, at the beginning of this very Millennial rule, Spiritual Israel will be used as Kings and Priests to show this way of life. Yes, not just the way of life, but the Spirit will be also poured out and for the first time, there will be a spiritual approach to the Law of God. They are not going to try and go in one direction, believing another direction. "..All that the Lord hath said will we do..." (Exodus 24:7). That didn't work. Why? Because their heart was going in a different direction. But for the first time, there will be real belief and understanding.

The Bride of Christ (PLAY FROM 41:16)

What in fact is going to happen, is that we are not just simply spiritual Israel, we are also the Bride of Christ. Because this relationship that we will have with Christ is that of a husband and wife. Spiritual Israel is to be the wife of Christ. It is also a family relationship between all of those that are also in the world and we will come onto that in a little while.

It will be a family relationship, but as far as I can tell, it appears that the only ones that will be counted as 'the Bride', and for all eternity will remain as that Bride, will be the Firstfruits because the actual marriage takes place right at the end of the seven last plagues. For all I can see, that is the way that it was explained, and certainly appears within scripture. Here in Hebrews 8:6 it says:

"But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises [the spiritual law of God "is received upon better promises"]. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:" (Hebrews 8:6-10)

There is a relationship there, the Spirit of God is poured out, the laws are actually written on the heart, and therefore what comes out of the mouth, what comes out of the actions, flows from this change - this conversion within the heart. Hebrews 8:11:

"And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away." (Hebrews 8:11-13)

That was written at the time just before 70 AD when Titus sacked the Temple and destroyed the priesthood. The whole thing came right to a close, the whole Levitical priesthood ended and the Melchizedek priesthood then began.

Isaiah 9 talks about Christ as the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace; "...the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

Because from that union, you've got Christ and the Church. It is a family relationship and from that union children will then be born. In Ephesians 5 it talks about Christ and the Church as a wife and a husband and it says:

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones." (Ephesians 5:22-30)

This is what happened with Eve; she wasn't just created as a separate individual, she was created from the man, showing the same relationship. Ephesians 5:30:

"For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this [reason] shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church." (Ephesians 5:30-32)

What will happen when the two come together, what will occur? How do we know how it works? It says; "This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church." (Ephesians 5:32). The physical relationship mirrors the spiritual. The spiritual relationship of "knowing" one another ...what will come out of that union? What comes out of a sexual union? Children. In the same way, in this family relationship; the Bride of Christ, Zion, this relationship between Christ and the Church when they are finally married and the wife has made herself ready. Let's have a look at Revelation 19:7:

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come [present tense], and his wife hath made herself ready [we've already had the return of Jesus Christ; the fact is that at the beginning of the return of Christ, the Church is resurrected to spirit life, so the Church at that time is spirit-born]. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints [our righteousness will be complete by that time]. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God." (Revelation 19:7-9)

So, here we see this marriage supper of the Lamb occurring at this particular juncture just before; "And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Christ." (Revelation 19:19). Just before that event it appears the marriage will take place.

I don't want to go into the location of that marriage but as far as I can tell, IF it is on the earth, it appears to be the Valley of Achor, which is just by the Allenby Bridge.

When Christ's feet hit the Mount of Olives it will split into two and the Valley then spreads all the way down to the Jordan River and down to the Jordan River into the Dead Sea. From there you will have this stream of water flowing that will come from the area of Jerusalem which will pour down there and there will be presumably level land between Jerusalem and going down to the Dead Sea in which nurseries will be growing according to what it says in Ezekiel. In that valley, as it goes towards that Valley of Achor which is just before the Allenby Bridge, it appears it is probably in that area that the marriage would take place - if it is on the earth.

Here, the timing appears just before the end of the last plagues and the last of the last plagues and just before Satan is actually bound for a thousand years and put into his place of restraint.

At that time then, what we will then see if you turn over to Psalm 45:6 you find this Psalm describing the Church as The Bride of Christ and not just the Bride of Christ, but as the Queen:

"Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir [here is the Church in glory, married to Christ, not just she's a Bride of Christ, but she's actually married; she is the Queen by this time]. Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. [Verse 16] Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth." (Psalm 45:6-11,16)

Again, the governorship is going to be from that union, will come from the children. Perhaps our own physical children will be the first that will be used by God through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. We will actually be able to give the Holy Spirit to our own families, to our own neighbours and friends. It will come from that union between Christ and the Church. It's interesting, if you turn over to Philippians 3:2 where it talks about forgetting your own people, it says:

"Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision [the mutilators, the people that insisted on physical circumcision]. For we are the circumcision, which worship God [the circumcision, remember, being the sign of Israel] in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." (Philippians 3:2-3)

So, here was spiritual Israel with a mark of spiritual circumcision. The circumcision of the heart and not the flesh. It says in Philippians 3:13:

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be [mature and] perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded..." (Philippians 3:13-15)

So, again it is a very similar frame of mind as is given to the Queen at that time. Forget your father's house, this is a different house. This is a different family that we are part of and that family, is the Family of God. The Firstfruits are going to be the Bride of Christ, but they are going to have children and they are all going to be part of spiritual Israel. The children that come from that union will be spiritual Israel.

So, spiritual Israel will then spread across the earth. There is going to be nothing left except spiritual Israel on the earth by the time the Great White Throne Judgement is completed. Remember, what does the name Israel mean? It means the Power of God. It is these individuals who through God's Power have become the converted, become changed into, eventually, God Beings.

Initially, in embryo; an embryo of what? Of the Church. What does the Church consist of? This literal born again Family of God Beings which will be with Christ, administering the Government of God at that time, as the Bride of Christ. Not an affianced Bride then, but the actual Queen. The Bride of Christ who is married to Christ who has become His wife and who is actually working with Him and alongside Him in the very Family of God and bringing many sons into glory at that particular time.

New Jerusalem (PLAY FROM 54:05)

Now it will go on even beyond that. If we turn over to Isaiah 59:20 and we will start looking into this subject of New Jerusalem. Here it says:

"And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the [Eternal]. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the [Eternal]; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the [Eternal], from henceforth and for ever." (Isaiah 59:20-21)

So, here we are looking again at the beginning of the Millennium. As I say, our own children; we will not only have them begotten physically but as the Bride of Christ, as the Queen that is ruling with Christ, we will be able to beget them spiritually as well. These words will not depart out of their mouths or the mouths of our grandchildren and great grandchildren from henceforth and forever. Isaiah 60:1:

"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the [Eternal] is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the [Eternal] shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles [notice!] shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising." (Isaiah 60:1-3)

So, here we see the Gentiles coming to Zion and it says; "And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob..." (Isaiah 59:20). To Zion, the Church, and the kings and the Gentiles will then come to that light; will come to the Church administering the Government over Israel, in the area of physical Zion, in the area of physical Israel at that time. Isaiah 60:11:

"Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought." (Isaiah 60:11)

Now, it's interesting when you read things like this, here it is in Isaiah and this is talking physically; yet, when you read things like this and you think about what is actually mentioned in Revelation - the New Jerusalem - then the physical is merely a type. It's a type of the eternal dwelling of the Bride and Christ, which is New Jerusalem. But this is physical Jerusalem that will be at that time when Jerusalem will actually rise up and the area around it will become a plain. We will be living there, as the Bride of Christ initially. There will be physical things that will take place at that time as well. Notice in Isaiah 60:14:

"The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee; The city of the [Eternal], The Zion of the Holy One of Israel [obviously looking at the Millennial rule at this time]. Whereas thou has been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations." (Isaiah 60:14-15)

Again, looking at it physically, but I want you to notice how it then merges into the spiritual, verse 18:

"Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the [Eternal] shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory [here you have now switched across into the New Jerusalem]. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the [Eternal] shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the [Eternal] will hasten it in his time." (Isaiah 60:18-22)

So, looking again the way this all flows from a physical thing into a spiritual New Jerusalem. The fact is the little one will become a strong nation, a small one will become a thousand. We are looking at that into the future. It is interesting, Hebrews 11:10 tells us what Abraham sought, it says:

"For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." (Hebrews 11:10)

He sought a city whose foundations were made by God. He actually sought that New Jerusalem.

Into Eternity (PLAY FROM 59:02)

If we go back to Revelation 21 and just read a little bit about this place where we will in fact inherit eternity; where we will dwell and administer the Government of God for eternity. It says right at the end of Revelation 20:14:

"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:14-15)

So, all the physical is gone. All those physical human beings who rebel against the Government of God are no more. Then in Revelation 21:1:

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." (Revelation 21:1)

Now that 'no more sea'; could it be talking about the Mediterranean Sea? It could well be; and the reason I say that is that when you are looking at the dimensions involved in Revelation 21:16, you are looking between a thousand and one and a half thousand miles. This has got to stretch right out into the Mediterranean Sea. It looks as if that is where it is. A thousand to round about one and a half thousand miles will stretch from the Nile all the way across to the Euphrates and that's square. So, you go right down into Saudi Arabia, right the way up, into Turkey. This is a huge area of land and therefore I think it will go right out into the Mediterranean Sea.

So, when we are looking at New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband, it looks like this jewel that's coming down. It doesn't mean to say that the Bride hasn't married yet, of course she has. She is already married in Revelation 19. Revelation 21:3:

"And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful." (Revelation 21:3-5)

Now this is going to be made new by the very Family of God. That is what the reason for existence is going to be. We are going to be making all things new, this family government. How is it going to be done? Well, what's the name of Israel? Israel means the power of God. It is the power of God that will be doing it. Revelation 21:6:

"And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." (Revelation 21:6)

The Spirit of God was given to Christ without measure. We too, it says, will have the waters of life freely. We don't have to worry. We won't be able to sin at that time because the fountain of the water of life will pour through us. What will be coming out of our mouths and what will be coming out of our actions will be spirit-led. Revelation 21:7:

"He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death [that has already occurred]. And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride [notice], the Lamb's wife." (Revelation 21:7-9)

She is already His wife. Like a Bride that descends, the New Jerusalem coming down from above. The question is, where does it come from? The question I have myself, and I can't give an answer to. When the heavens roll back as a scroll it appears that we will be able to look through into another dimension - or something! It appears that the Christ, Himself will come through between that scroll, the way the fabric of space and time will roll back and He will come through with the armies from heaven. Presumably, the Jerusalem above, the mother of us all, will come through that as this city. Is that tear going to remain all the way through the Millennium? That's the question I don't know the answer to. It appears that is probably what will happen.

"...Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife." (Revelation 21:9). So, this Jerusalem above, the mother of us all is our dwelling place. The dwelling place of who? The Firstfruits. The Firstfruits will actually be administering and dwelling there and this will be our base. We will go no more out; pillars in the very Temple of God. Revelation 21:10:

"And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God [remember in Hebrews 11 Abraham sought a city, whose builder and foundations came from God; this is the city], Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:" (Revelation 21:10-12)

So, here is spiritual Israel; it is this New Jerusalem. The Jerusalem from above, the mother of us all, is spiritual Israel. It is the dwelling place of Spiritual Israel throughout eternity. Revelation 21:14:

"And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb." (Revelation 21:14)

They were to rule over the twelve tribes. So, 'the foundations of the apostles and prophets'. Again, this is symbolic language - but more than symbolic; this is going to be the dwelling place of the Church. Revelation 21:24:

"And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it." (Revelation 21:24)

So, it is not the only dwelling place of all the people of the earth. They will all become part of Spiritual Israel, but they are not going to become part of the Bride of Christ. The Bride of Christ appears to be reserved for the Firstfruits. From that union, then come the children, the children of Israel. Revelation 21:25:

"And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Revelation 21:25-27)

And then, governing from this location; will go out into eternity. If we look back in Daniel 12:1 it talks here:

"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble...[and so on; this is condensed, the time scale is concertinaed right down]. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise [now it goes right to the very end, right after the Great White Throne Judgement, right after the lake of fire...] shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." (Daniel 12:1-3)

So, administering from that New Jerusalem out into eternity with glorified bodies that will shine. Put in your notes; "...look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness." (II Peter 3:13). Righteousness that will be possible because the very heart will have been changed. Not the way ancient Israel was, even with the benefit of breeding, the land, and the wealth of that land, the kingdom of priests, and the law of God - all these things that they had physically - but the heart wasn't there. In this case, the heart most certainly will be there. Let's turn over to Isaiah 55:8 it says:

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the [Eternal]. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9)

These things were in His Plan all the way back, right the way back. Even when Adam and Eve were there, when Eve took the wrong tree. Why did He allow Satan to have access to her? Again, it's all part of the Plan. Was God caught unawares by the way Eve actually acted? I doubt it seriously. I think He would have recognized that unless the heart changes - and she would have had to go and actually take of that Tree of Life - and if she didn't, then she'd have no chance at all of standing against Satan. He goes on in Isaiah 55:11:

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11)

It draws the parallel of the rain coming down and watering the ground. When the rain comes down it does some good. It accomplishes what is necessary. So the Word of God is not going to fail. It is not going to return to Him void. The things that He sends it to do, will in fact occur. We can see some of those things in Isaiah 51:16;

"And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand [My Word has gone out, and it will accomplish what I choose; the word has gone into our mouth, within the Church, and it will therefore accomplish what He chooses, that He may plant the heavens - the new heavens and the new earth - that is the eventual aim], that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people." (Isaiah 51:16)

So, that is the purpose of the Church, of Zion, and to remove Satan's mind and to replace it with the very Power of God. That 'Power of God', that Spirit of God is the meaning of the name Israel. Go now to Isaiah 59:20;

"And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the [Eternal]." (Isaiah 59:20)

So, the Eternal has said this, so this will actually happen! The Redeemer shall come to Zion and to those that turn from transgression in Jacob. That's what God says, that will be accomplished. Isaiah 59:21:

"As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Eternal [this is the Word, this is what will happen]; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the [Eternal], from henceforth and for ever." (Isaiah 59:21)

So, that Word is going to be accomplished forever, out into eternity. Turn over to Isaiah 65:17:

"For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying." (Isaiah 65:17-19)

We have seen the New Jerusalem as a dwelling place of God and the new heavens and the new earth are going to be created by the people that are part of that Government of God that will then flow out away from New Jerusalem.

Go back to Genesis 11:1. There is an interesting segment of scripture here. Right at the end of the flood we come to this time when Nimrod, who was elevating himself with his wife Semiramis and he was placing himself before the Eternal; elevating himself and his ideas before the Eternal:

"And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name , lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." (Genesis 11:1-4)

What mankind was looking for was a name, was a government, an authority. They were elevating their ideas, their Babylonish system. It was Babel - that was the name that was going to be made. That name was what was all important. In Genesis 12:1:

"Now the [Eternal] had said unto Abram, [He said that over in Ur of the Chaldees] Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great ; and thou shalt be a blessing:" (Genesis 12:1-2)

Now that name was indeed going to be great. That name was Abraham. He is the father of a multitude. He is going to be under Jesus Christ. He is going to be the father of the multitude of all the entire earth. He will have his own children of Israel there as well, as a separate nation. But, he will indeed be the father of many nations. He will be the father of a multitude because of his righteousness and the way in which he conducted himself. That was the criteria, the faith that he had in God, the fact that he followed the very Spirit of God. He was selected by God to have that Spirit.

That is what's important. That is the spiritual aspect of this entire subject of Israel. It will go out into eternity. Abraham will indeed by the father of a multitude. Israel is going to be the Power of God. It is the Power of God that is important. The Power of God gives us the righteousness that is necessary. It's not the dichotomy of going in two directions which are opposite of each other. It's doing what Eve should have done when she took of the wrong tree.

Instead of taking that tree, she should have gone and taken of the other tree at that time, and countered Satan; but she didn't do it. She should have taken the very Spirit of God, the very Tree of Life. That in fact, will take place. It will take place for all mankind and they will all be grafted back into that olive tree, back into Israel, back into this nation, this family. It is in fact, going to become the Family of God.

It is going to be the Bride and Christ, the Queen and Christ - these two individuals in that sense. The Firstfruits with Christ and the Government of God. They will then administer their Family Government throughout the entirety of the universe.

What I would like to do today, just to close, I would like to quote the closing segment, because as I say, this is not something that just kind of happened and caught God unawares. It is something that had been planned.

The name of Israel, even the selection of the name, 'Prevailing with God', is meaningful. The name of Abraham, the father of a multitude is meaningful. The fact that your name is going to be great and that mankind was trying to make a name, is meaningful. The entire picture is meaningful.

Even the very planet itself - when people look at the planet, as we saw in that video that we played at the Feast on the 'Privileged Planet,' this particular planet is in a very unique area in our galaxy, in that you are able to see from this planet out into the rest of the universe. It is in a particular location with liquid water and various other aspects involved with it.

The people that you probably saw on that 'Privileged Planet' film predominately were Messrs Gonzalez and Richards. They produce a book which is to do with how our place in the cosmos is designed for discovery. This is what they are showing. What I would like to do is just quote the final closing words of that book. It says:

"As we stand gazing at the heavens, beyond our little oasis, we gaze not into a meaningless abyss, but into a wondrous arena commensurate with our capacity for discovery. Perhaps we have also been staring past a cosmic signal, far more significant than any mere sequence of numbers. A signal revealing the universe so skilfully crafted for life and discovery that it seems to whisper of an extra-terrestrial intelligence immeasurably more vast, more ancient and more magnificent than anything we have been willing to expect or imagine."
