Number

Seventh-Day Adventists (SDAs) have made it easy for themselves. They figured out a clever number game that - allegedly - proves the Pope is the Antichrist and the Catholic Church a satanic institution, the Whore of Babylon.

Now, I am not even going to bother trying to refute this or that 666-game; instead, I will try a new tactic:

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.(KJV)

Now, this is my challenge to all those who believe the Catholic Church to be the Whore of Babylon and the Pope to be the Antichrist:

Prove to me that you fall into the category of "he that hath understanding"; show me why you are the one that has the wisdom that is mentioned in Rev 13:16-18."

2. How do we get wisdom and understanding?

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understandinghave all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Once we are obeying God, and have been given understanding and wisdom, we need the Holy Spirit in us. We need to be asking God for His Holy Spirit, daily!

32 "And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."

13 Howbeit when it, the Spirit of truth, is come, it will guide you into all truth: for it shall not speak of its self; but whatsoever it shall hear, that shall it speak: and it will show you things to come!

As we read in John 16:13, the Holy Spirit will show us things to come. Without the Holy Spirit, there is only the deception of Satan!

3. Number in Scripture

In English, our letters and numbers are separate. In the Hebrew and Greek languages, both use the letters of their alphabet to represent numbers.

In Greek, for example, alpha = 1, beta =2 and so on. This is referred to as Gematria.

On the wall in Pompeii, someone had written, " I love the girl whose number is 495!

2. Division/ duality, difference.

5. Grace, heavenly favour, love.
6. The number of Man.
7. Spiritual perfection, rest.
8. Resurrection, new beginnings, Jesus.

11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

In Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

Christ was once offered the job as leader over all the nations of the world by Satan. (Luke 4:5) "And the Devil, taking him up into a high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment in time. Kingdoms of the world totals 3996 (666 x 6).

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

If you go onto the internet/Google you are presented with approx 11,800,000 web sites. Millions of people are trying to interpret this number.

Many names can be made to fit the number 666. Some use the modern Greek, some Hebrew, some Latin, some use the ASKI computer code and some have even invented their own numbering system. E.g. a=6 b=12 c=18 etc…

In the Hebrew alphabet, "W" (pronounced "vov") is the sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet and, in the Hebraic number system represents the number 6, so

The number of seats - There are 679 of them. While these seats are allocated to Members, one seat remains unallocated and unoccupied. The number of that seat is 666.

Many names may be found, the numerical value of whose letters amounts to 666. We have a list of about forty such gematria. Most of them are ridiculous, inasmuch as instead of the gematria being confined to Hebrew and Greek (which have no Arabic or other special signs for figures), the principle is extended to names in English, French, and other modern languages, on the assumption that they would have been spelt in exactly the same way; whereas we know that names both of persons and places are not simply transliterated in various languages. It is absurd therefore to attempt to take words from the modern European languages which use Arabic figures.

If six is the number of secular or human perfection, then 66 is a more emphatic expression of the same fact, and 666 is the concentrated expression of it; 666 is therefore the trinity of human perfection; the perfection of imperfection; the culmination of human pride in independence of God and opposition to His Christ. ( wrong tree!!)

During this age, "Separation" is God's word for His people, and is the mark of Christ; while "union" and "re-union" is the mark of Antichrist.

It is remarkable that the Romans did not use all the letters of their alphabet, as did the Hebrews and Greeks. They used only six letters,* D, C, L, X, V, and I. And it is still more remarkable, and perhaps significant, that the sum of these amounts to 666:—

1. D =	500	600	666
2. C =	100	600
3. L =	50	60
4. X =	10	60
5. V =	5	6
6. I =	1	6

In each of the three pairs there is an addition of one, for 6 = 5 + 1. It is the grace of God superseded by the corruption of man.

Further illustration of the significance of this number is seen in the fact that

by the Roman Empire exactly 666 years from the battle of Actium, BC 31, to the Saracen conquest in AD 636.*

which stand out in Scripture as the avowed enemies of God and of His people. Each is branded with this number six that we may not miss their significance:

1. GOLIATH, whose height was 6 cubits, and he had 6 pieces of armour;* his spear's head weighed 600 shekels of iron (1 Sam 17:4-7).

2. NEBUCHADNEZZAR, whose "image" which he set up,** was 60 cubits high and 6 cubits broad (Dan 3:1), and which was worshipped when the music was heard from 6 specified instruments,*** and

1 Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

*** The numerical value (by gematria) of the words in Daniel 3:1, is 4662. = 7 x 666.

The number 666 has another remarkable property. It is further marked as the concentration and essence of 6 by being the sum of all the numbers which makes up the square of six! The square of six is 36 (6², or 6x6), and the sum of the numbers 1 to 36 = 666, i.e., 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 17 + 18 + 19 + 20 + 21 + 22 + 23 + 24 + 25 + 26 + 27 + 28 + 29 + 30 + 31 + 32 + 33 + 34 + 35 + 36 = 666.

They may be arranged in the form of a square with six figures each way, so that the sum of each six figures in any direction shall be another significant trinity = 111.

"The ancients claimed that God works by mathematics. Their religion was a conglomeration of religion, astrology, alchemy, physical and mental science, and mathematics. Ancient astrology divided the starry heavens into 36 constellations. These were represented by different amulets called "Sigilla Solis," or the sun seal. These amulets were worn by the pagan priests, and they contained all the numbers from 1 to 36. By these figures they claimed to be able to foretell future events. These amulets were usually made of gold, yellow being the sun color. While being carried, these amulets were wrapped in yellow silk, as it was thought that the bearer would thus receive the beneficial powers believed to emanate from the jewel."

"These drawings from photographs taken in 1910, show actual amulets then in the Berlin Museum. They reveal the veneration the ancients had for the sun-god. On the front side of No.1 we see the god of the sun standing on the lion. This indicated the sun's position in the constellation of Leo during the hot days of August. On the back is inscribed "Nachyel," meaning "intelligence of the sun," and in 36 squares are arranged the numerals 1 to 36 (see table 1) in such a way that adding the numbers of any column either horizontally or vertically, and also the two diagonals crossing the square, the total is the same- 111.

The sum of the six columns, computed either horizontally or vertically, is 6 x 111, or 666."

4. What, or who, is the BEAST, the IMAGE of the beast, and the MARK of the beast spoken of in the book of Revelation?

Some have said "pagan Rome." But will we be guided solely by the Bible interpretation of its own symbols? Then, if we will, the dragon is a symbol which means Satan, the devil. Notice Revelation 12. "The great dragon... that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan...

Note These Points

1. The beast has a number and may be identified, if we have wisdom, by this number.

2. The number is 666.

3. We are told to count this number -- that is, add it up. The same Greek word is used elsewhere only in Luke 14:28: "count the cost."

4. This number, 666, is the number of the beast. The only Bible interpretation of this symbol, "beast," is a kingdom or the king who rules it and, therefore, really is the kingdom (Dan. 7:17-18, 22-24, 27). Therefore 666 must be the number of the KINGDOM, or GOVERNMENT, or EMPIRE, as well as that of the king who founds or rules it.

5. The expression "the name of the beast, or the number of his name" makes plain that the number 666 is the number of the name of the kingdom or empire.

6. The expression "it is the number of a man" shows we must also count this number in the name of the king, or ruler, over the kingdom identified as the "beast."

In the 17th chapter of Revelation we find a beast, and a woman - a great, wealthy but fallen woman - who was riding the beast. The Bible describes the symbol "woman" to mean a church (see II Cor. 11:2; Rev. 19:7; Eph. 5:22-27).

Let us be consistent. The beast of Revelation 13 is not the woman who rode the beast - the beast is the government, and the woman is a church.

Dictionaries define it as a "likeness," or a "copy, representation, model, semblance, counterpart." So here is a church saying, "Let us make a model, or counterpart, of the civil Roman government" - for that is what the beast is.

But this church became a mother, and daughter churches came out of her in "protest," calling themselves "Protestant." And all have worldly, political church government. "Upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS" (Rev. 17:5). Her daughters are called "harlots." Together, they are called "BABYLON." They are pagan, teaching pagan doctrines and customs, cloaked in the name of Christianity!

Yes, human-organized churchianity, not Bible-designed spiritual-organism government, is the image of the beast. It is the pagan political counterfeit of God's government.

So here is some kingdom or government appearing as that of Christ, or the Kingdom of God.

The web offers many interpretations of the mark…from bar codes (every bar code contains the 666) to computer chips injected into the body.

The "mark" is something that will be very popular - something the majority of people will be in favour of, will seek - which custom will approve as right.

The "mark" is the mark of the BEAST - and the "beast" is the ROMAN EMPIRE. In Revelation 17 a later stage of this same wild beast is pictured, and there a "woman" - a great CHURCH - sits astride it, guides it, rules over it. But the MARK is the mark of the ROMAN EMPIRE - not the Roman Catholic Church.

"REMEMBER the sabbath day, to keep it holy... The seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God."

No carnal mind can see, without the special spiritual revelation of God through His Word, where it makes any difference WHICH day man observes.

WHERE DID SUNDAY ORIGINATE? Not with the church, but with the pagan religion of the ROMAN EMPIRE! It is the day on which the ancient pagans assembled at sunrise, faced the east (as they do Easter Sunday morning today) and worshipped the rising SUN. It was Constantine, emperor of the Roman Empire, not a pope, who made SUNDAY the official so-called "Christian day of rest." But it was enforced - people were caused to accept it universally - by the CHURCH!

It was for obeying God's FOURTH Commandment - keeping the Sabbath - that millions were put to death. The local Council of Laodicea, about A.D. 363, passed this decree: "Christians must not Judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, resting rather on Sunday. But, if any be found to be Judaizing, let them be declared anathema from Christ."

The church caused them to be killed. When the church branded one "anathema" (a heretic), the state police of the Empire began torturing him. Unless he recanted, he was tortured until he died!

Laws became so strict no man could hold a job, or engage in business, unless he worked on Saturday and rested on Sunday. And the world will be so geared that it will be almost impossible for one to "buy or sell" except he receive this MARK OF THE BEAST!

This is the ONLY COMMANDMENT which was altered by the Roman Empire! In Daniel 7:25 we read the prophecy of this BEAST and the little horn (the political government of the church) rising up, which was to think to CHANGE "times and laws." That is, change God's LAW in respect to TIME - the time for the Sabbath!

( The Roman Catholic Church claim to be the church of God. How then can they reconcile their actions over the centuries with……John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

5. END TIME - WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE?

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Mr Joseph Tkach set this in motion! Once he had fulfilled his job, God removed him! He preached against the Law of God, against God's way of life. God removed him - 40 weeks later, not just to the day - but to the very hour!!!

7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

SCATTER = to shatter, to beat in pieces, to pulverise…this is happening…now! It seems that the shattering will only be completed right at the end of the tribulation!

Why? We are the Temple of God to which Christ will return. If we look to the temple which King Solomon built, all the pieces were fabricated off-site. They were then transported to the site and assembled. In peace!

IKing 6:7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

Where is America? Surely if GB and Israel were attacked today we would run to the US!

The mighty dollar ceases to be the world currency, replaced by the Euro. A Wall Street crash plunges America, and the rest of the world, into a depression. At the same time, the USA and GB split, and both dump modern day Israel. Throw in a few "natural disasters" and a bit of terrorism….The Arab nations cut the flow of oil to the west…then Ephraim sees his sickness etc (anxiety, calamity, grief )

Isa 9:14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.( The leaders of USA and GB killed?)

5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.

With no fuel for the trucks to transport the food to the supermarkets, the supermarkets will be empty in hours. We saw a little of this in the strike here in the U.K a few years ago.

Famine conditions could occur in a few days! With no electricity, drinking water would be hard to find, the sewage system wouldn't work, disease would follow very quickly! The chances are that this would happen at this time of the year….cold ( 1335 days back from Feast of Trumpets…..)

6. How to identify the Beast

People unite with the Beast…because he shows them a way out of all this chaos, (e.g. Hitler.. at first, he stopped inflation overnight, got the economy back on track….

10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

14 (NIV) They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. 'Peace, peace,' they say, when there is no peace.

15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

7. The Number of the "Beast" -- 666 -- Whose Number Is It?

The Founder of Rome

The founder and first king of Rome was Romulus. The Roman Empire was named after him. His name, the name of a man, also is the name of the kingdom. And every citizen in the kingdom bears the same name -- a Roman.

When John wrote this Revelation, telling us to count the number of the beast, he wrote in the Greek language. Consequently, we should look for this name, and the number 666, in this language recognised in the Bible, not in the Latin.

We are all familiar with the Roman numerals, where letters are used for numbers. All understand that I is 1, V is 5, X is 10, etc. But many do not know that the Greek language, in which the book of Revelation was written, also uses letters for numbers.

In the Greek, the language in which Revelation was written, this name was understood in the second century A.D. to have originally been spelled Lateinos. It signifies "Latin man" or "the name of Latium," from which region the Romans derived their origin and their language. This word, too, signifies "Roman." In the Greek, L is 30, A is 1, T is 300, E is 5, I is 10, N is 50, O is 70, S is 200. Count these figures. They count to exactly 666!

It is indeed no coincidence that the name of the kingdom, its founder and first king, and of each man in the kingdom, counts to exactly 666!

Certainly the beast stands identified!

And Mussolini, Too

But the same numbers also branded in Latin on the man who dominated the puny sixth head of the symbolic beast.

Mussolini called himself "Il Duce." Italians shouted "Viva Il Duce!" which means "long live the chief." Everywhere in Italy was the printed sign, "vv il duce." The "VV" is the abbreviation used for "Viva." A "V" is used instead of the "U" as is very commonly done. While this is a greeting, or title, Mussolini actually employed "Il Duce" as a name. It is in Latin. Count it.

V is 5, V is 5, I is 1, L is 50, D is 500, V is 5, C is 100, E has no number. Now count them, and you have exactly 666!

Thus this number 666 is indelibly branded upon the Roman Empire!

But, some will ask, does not this number apply to the Pope? Some teach "the words 'Vicarius Filii Dei' are on the Pope's triple crown." The Pope does, on some occasions, wear a triple crown, but these words are not on it! We should be careful to prove all things.

Furthermore, these words are in the Latin, not a Bible language. This is not a name, but a title, and it is the name of the beast, and the number of the name of the man of the beast we are told to count. Further, this Latin title does not apply to a kingdom, or empire, but alone to a man.

And so the number 666 is branded on the Roman Empire, on the founder and first king of the Latins, on every Roman, and even on Mussolini.

Could anything be more conclusive? HWA

The Donation of Constantine is the most famous forgery in European history. Originally discovered in the Pseudo-Isidorian Decretals in the 9th century (c. 847-853), which are now also recognized to be forgeries, parts of the Donation of Constantine were later incorporated into most of the medieval collections of Catholic canon law (Anselm's, Cardinal Deusdedit's (c. 1087), and Gratian's Decretum (c. 1148) also known as Concordia Discordantium Canonum). So the Donation of Constantine was held to be genuine for centuries.

The Donation of Constantine is cited in writing by no less than 10 Popes as proof of their civil authority and sovereignty over Rome, and what came to be known as the Papal States, which included a large portion of Italy. It was eventually exposed as a pious fraud in 1440 by Laurentius Valla who proved it had to have been written several centuries after the death of Constantine (337 A.D.)

In one of the fresco panels, shown above, Emperor Constantine is offering his crown to the Pope, illustrating the Donation of Constantine. In the following panel, the triumphal Pope, riding on horseback, is led through Rome by the humbled Emperor, who is on foot. THIS NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!

On 24 February 1520, about four years before the painting of the Donation was completed, Martin Luther wrote:

I have at hand Lorenzo Valla's proof that the Donation of Constantine is a forgery. Good heavens, what darkness and wickedness is at Rome. You wonder at the judgement of God that such unauthentic, crass, imprudent lies not only lived, but prevailed for so many centuries, that they were incorporated in the canon law ... and became as articles of faith. I am in such a passion that I scarcely doubt that the pope is the Antichrist expected by the world, so closely do their acts, lives, sayings, and laws agree.

[pg. 3] The leader of the Catholic Church is defined by the faith as the Vicar of Jesus Christ (and is accepted as such by believers). The Pope is considered the man on earth who represents the Son of God, who "takes the place" of the Second Person of the omnipotent God of the Trinity.

[pg. 13] The Pope is not the only one who holds this title. With regard to the Church entrusted to him, each bishop is Vicarius Christi.

Note that on page three of the Pope's book, "represents the Son of God" is synonymous with "Vicar of Jesus Christ". A vicar clearly represents, substitutes for, or "takes the place" of another, as stated. Consequently "represents the Son of God" can be translated in Latin as Vicarius Filii Dei, which in Roman Numerals will add up to 666. The title Vicarius Christi, translated into English, means a substitute for Christ, i.e., Antichrist, as demonstrated above, which is applied by the Pope to every bishop of the Catholic Church!

Mr Waterhouse said it could be that the people of God had to be in the right place at the right time. I.e. In Judea, just before "the wall bursts" Isa 30:9

Luke 21:20-21 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto (Judea)

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.

35 "For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Look up in Strong's Concordance word 473 in the Greek dictionary. You will find the the word anti is often used to denote substitution-

473. anti, an-tee'; a prim. particle; opposite, i.e. instead or because of (rarely in addition to):--for, in the room of. Often used in composition to denote contrast, requital, *substitution*, correspondence, etc.

An example of how anti is used this way can be found in the words type and antitype, which are used with respect to Bible prophecy. The "type" is the pattern or symbol, and the antitype is the fulfillment. The Jewish Passover was a "type" and the crucifixion of Jesus is the "antitype" or fulfillment of the example of the type. You substitute the antitype into the symbolism of the type to arrive at the complete meaning.

The Catholic Church has essentially confirmed this usage of the word anti. In the 1994 Catholic Almanac on page 158 there is "the list of men who claimed or exercised the papal office in an uncanonical manner." So these men tried to substitute themselves for the true Pope, and usurp that office, so to speak. The Catholic church denies the papal authority of the men on that list because they attempted a substitute (false) claim on the Papacy. That list is a list of ANTI-POPES! So the word anti can clearly mean a substitute for something.

Antichrist (word 500 in Strong's Greek dictionary) can be correctly interpreted then, as someone who substitutes himself for Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

"Vicar of Christ . . . Title used almost exclusively of the Bishop of Rome as successor of Peter and, therefore, the one in the Church who particularly takes the place of Christ; but used also of bishops in general and even of priests. First used by the Roman Synod of A.D. 495 to refer to Pope Gelasius; more commonly in Roman curial usage to refer to the Bishop of Rome during the pontificate of Pope Eugene III (1145-1153). Pope Innocent III (1198-1216) asserted explicitly that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ; further defined at the Council of Florence in the Decree for the Greeks (1439) and Vatican Council I in Pastor Aerternus (1870). The Second Vatican Council, in Lumen Gentium , n.27, calls bishops in general "vicars and legates of Christ." All bishops are vicars of Christ for their local churches in their ministerial functions as priest, prophet, and king, as the Pope is for the universal church; the title further denotes they exercise their authority in the Church not by delegation from any other person, but from Christ Himself."

Some Catholics will claim that the title VICARIUS FILII DEI is an anti-catholic fabrication, a complete fake, never used by the Catholic church. One example of this is online at the Catholic Envoy Magazine in the article titled Pope Fiction by Patrick Madrid (See Fiction 5). My complete discussion with Patrick Madrid.

The following evidence is offered to prove that VICARIUS FILII DEI is indeed genuine.

Vicarius Filii Dei translated in English is Vicar of the Son of God, a phrase that has been used by Catholics:

... there are Catholics who talk against the temporal power of the Pope, either because they have been stunned by the clamours of a Protestant people, or because they are white-hearted, and have not courage to stand in the face of popular falsehood for an unpopular truth. The spirit of Protestant England:its lawlessness, its pride, its contempt, and its enmity to the Church of God:has made Catholics too to be cold-hearted, even when the Vicar of Jesus Christ is insulted. We have need, then, to be upon our guard. It shall happen once more with some, as it did when the Son of God was in His Passion:they saw Him betrayed, bound, carried away, buffeted, blindfolded, and scourged; they saw Him carry His Cross to Calvary, then nailed upon it, and lifted up to the scorn of the world; and they said, "If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him."* So in like manner they say now, "See this Catholic Church, this (substitute )Church of God, feeble and weak, rejected even by the very nations called Catholic. There is Catholic France, and Catholic Germany, and Catholic Italy, giving up this exploded figment of the temporal power of the Vicar of Jesus Christ." And…….

so, because the Church seems weak, and the Vicar of the Son of God is renewing the Passion of his Master upon earth, therefore we are scandalized, therefore we turn our faces from him. Where, then, is our faith? But the Son of God foretold these things when He said, "And now I have told you, before it come to pass; that when it shall come to pass, you may believe."*

... Lastly, the only other point upon which I shall speak to is this. We have already seen how the powers and glories of the Holy See have been progressively unfolding; how the time of St. Gregory I. was a period of apostolic missions, converting the nations to the faith; how the time of St. Leo III. was a period

of creating the Christian world; how the time of St. Gregory VII. was a period of purifying the sanctuary of the Church; and how the time of Alexander III. was a period of royalty of government and of ecclesiastical order, when the divine power of the church directed, by a firm and sacred authority, the civil powers of the world within the sphere of the law of God and of obedience to the faith. Now I observe these powers of the Holy See have been always rising, always culminating. The temporal power in the hand of St. Gregory I. was a fatherly and patriarchal rule over nations not as yet reduced to civil order. In the hands of St. Leo III. it became a power of building empires. In the hands of St. Gregory VII. it was a scourge to chasten them. In the hands of Alexander III. it was a dynasty, ruling supremely, in the name of God, over the powers of the world. And now in these later times the temporal sovereignty has become a law of the conscience, an axiom of the reason. Through long contests and denials it has passed into consciences, intellects, and hearts of men. Like the great dogmas of the Church, through controversy it has reached its analysis and expression. It stands by the side of the Immaculate Conception a theological certainty, if not a definition. So that I may say there never was a time when the temporal power of the Vicar of the Son of God, though assailed as we see it, was more firmly rooted through-

out the whole unity of the Catholic Church in the hearts and convictions of its members; and that by a double process, not only by its own proper evidence, not only by the light of God's dealing with the world, but by contrast. For the nations of Europe have already seen that the society of the world, without the guidance and preservation of the Church of God, resolves itself into confusion. They have seen every form of political society, and the confederations of kingdoms and nations, dissolve and pass away. While all the floating societies of the world have drifted down the stream, the centre of obedience has become more stable. Men have learned from the history of modern Europe that the law which is called the law of nations—that is, the rule of justice which regulates the relations of people with people—has become weak and powerless. And why? Because the nations have broken the bonds which bound them to the centre of obedience, and have shaken off the noble submission to a tribunal higher than man, from which came forth, in other days, the judgments of equity and of justice. It was a dignified obedience to bow to the Vicar of the Son of God, and to remit the arbitration of their griefs to one whom all wills consented to obey.

[pg. 13] The Pope is not the only one who holds this title. With regard to the Church entrusted to him, each bishop is Vicarius Christi.

So Catholics themselves originally used the phrase VICARIUS FILII DEI in the forged document known as the Donation of Constantine that was held to be genuine for many hundreds of years and Catholics continued to claim that VICARIUS FILII DEI was inscribed on one of the papal mitres as recently as 1915. That Latin title was also apparently mentioned at papal coronations, and the title was not denied in print by Catholic apologists as recently as 1938. I would also suspect, but cannot prove, that there are many documents in the archives of the Catholic Church that contain the exact wording in Latin as described.

An anecdote I can relate to you applies here. In discussing 666 with a fellow co-worker one day, he told me that he used to be in training to be a Catholic Priest, and in class one day the priest told the prospective inductees that there was no way to disprove that 666 applied to the papal title, and they would have to live with that fact if they wanted to be priests, or drop out. My friend did not go on to be a priest, though he may have quit for other reasons.

This identification of 666 with the Papal title of Vicarius Fill Dei first surfaced in print in the year 1612 A.D. in a book by Andreas Helwig called The Roman Antichrist. So the Roman Catholic Church has had over 380 years to conclusively prove it false, yet they have not done so. Why? Because it is true?!

The recently elected Fifth Parliament of Europe met on Tuesday, 20^th July, 1999, in its new glass building which cost the taxpayers of Europe an as yet uncalculated sum of billions of Pounds. The first meeting, due to begin at 10.00 a.m., did not start until 10.30 because the amplification system, which cost millions of Pounds, was defective. No doubt more defects in this Crystal Palace will be manifested in the days to come.

Incidentally, the Members of the European Parliament had no say whatsoever in where the building was to be located, what its design was to be, what amount of money was to be spent on it, or how it was to be furnished. The French Government forced it both upon Members of Parliament and upon the Governments of European Union countries, Germany and the United Kingdom being made to foot the exorbitant bill. These two countries are Europe's pay slaves.

The prophetic significance of the European Union has been revealed as the saga unfolds. [See our two articles on "The Conspiracy behind the European Union".] First, the sign which it chose as its symbol was the Woman riding the Beast. This comes from a prophecy in Revelation 17. The depiction of the harlot woman was reproduced on the centenary stamp of the European Union, in a huge painting in the Parliament's new building in Brussels, and by a huge sculpture outside the new E.U. Council of Ministers Office in Brussels. The new European coinage, the Euro, bears the same insignia. The Tower of Babel has been used on the posters emanating from Europe – a truly suggestive prophetic sign.

Now, a massive Crystal Palace tower (officially called the Tower Building) houses the Fifth Parliament of Europe.

It is certainly a building of the Space Age. The seats of its massive hemicycle are designed like the crew seats in the Star Trek space machines. There are 679 of them – but wait for it! While these seats are allocated to Members, one seat remains unallocated and unoccupied. The number of that seat is 666. The relevant section of the seating-plan provided to each Member reads as follows:

Revelation 13:18: "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." That is 666.

The Antichrist's seat will be occupied. The world awaits his full and final development. The Lord will destroy him by the spirit of His mouth (the Word of God) and by the brightness of His coming (2 Thes. 2:8). The coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

The mind of the beast is represented by the number (666) of a name. The mind of Christ is represented by a name that has a number (888). Numbers are impersonal things, well-suited to computers, but unnatural to humans! If you have the mind of the beast, you are only a number. No doubt you will be part of someone's statistics.

If you have the mind of Christ, you have a name.You have become a person and an individual in the sight of God. Your name is in the Lamb's book of life.

"Consider the fact that whoever has not been in the peace and unity of the Church cannot have the Lord. ...Although given over to flames and fires, they burn, or, thrown to wild beasts, they lay down their lives, there will not be (for them) that crown of faith but the punishment of faithlessness. ...Such a one can be slain, he cannot be crowned. ...[If] slain outside the Church, he cannot attain the rewards of the Church." (Denzinger 246-247)

"Now the holy Church universal proclaims that God cannot be truly worshipped saving within herself, asserting that all they that are without her shall never be saved." (Moralia)

"Indeed, there is but one universal Church of the faithful outside of which no one at all is saved." (Pope Innocent III, Fourth Lateran Council, 1215; Denz. 151)

"With our hearts we believe and with our lips we confess but one Church, not that of the heretics, but the Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church, outside which we believe that no one is saved." (Denzinger 423)

"We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff." (Denz. 469) [note: This definition (de fide definita) seems unanswerable, but the liberals boldly claim that this is not a definition intended for the universal Church, but only a pronouncement meant to deal with the local problem of Philip the Fair. But when Philip demanded of Pope Clement V, the first Avignon Pope, that he withdraw Unam Sanctam, Pope Clement did not do so, but issued the Brief Meruit February 1, 1306, which despite its extremely conciliatory tone, clearly states that Unam Sanctam contains a "definition":] "That is why we do not wish or intend that any prejudice be engendered for that king and kingdom by the definition and declaration of our predecessor Pope Boniface VIII of happy memory, which began by the words Unam Sanctam." (51 Corpus Juris Canonici, (Extravag. commun., lib. V, tit. VII, cap. 2) ed. Freiburg, Vol. II, p. 1300.)

"Where the necessity of salvation is concerned all the faithful of Christ must be subject to the Roman Pontiff, as we are taught by Holy Scripture, the testimony of the holy fathers, and by that constitution of our predecessor of happy memory, Boniface VIII, which begins Unam Sanctam." (Pope Leo X, Fifth Lateran Council (1512-1517) Conciliorum Oecumenicorum Decreta, Edidit Centro di Documentazione, Instituto per Science Religiose, Herder, Bologna, 1962, no. 40, pp. 619, 620.)

"We profess that there is no salvation outside the Church. ...For the Church is the pillar and ground of the truth. With reference to those words Augustine says: `If any man be outside the Church he will be excluded from the number of sons, and will not have God for Father since he has not the Church for mother.'" Alas their children left the home of their fathers, but it did not fall to the ground and perish for ever, for it was supported by God. That Christ and His Vicar constitute one only Head is the solemn teaching of Our predecessor of immortal memory Boniface VIII in the Apostolic Letter Unam Sanctam; and his successors have never ceased to repeat the same. "They, therefore, walk in the path of dangerous errors who believe that they can accept Christ as the head of the Church, while not adhering loyally to His Vicar on earth. They have taken away the visible bonds of unity and left the Mystical Body of the Redeemer so obscured and so maimed, that those who are seeking the haven of eternal salvation can neither see it nor find it." (Pope Pius XII, encyclical Mystici Corporis which appeared in 1943; The Papal Encyclicals 1939-1958, Claudia Carlen, I.H.M., McGrath Publishing Co., 1981, p. 45.)

"By divine mandate the interpreter and guardian of the Scriptures, and the depository of Sacred Tradition living within her, the Church alone is the entrance to salvation: She alone, by herself, and under the protection and guidance of the Holy Spirit, is the source of truth." "O Mary Mother of Mercy and Refuge of Sinners! We beseech thee to look with pitying eyes on poor heretics and schismatics. "According to the words of St. Augustine, who takes up an image dear to the ancient Fathers, the ship of the Church must not fear, because it is guided by Christ and by His Vicar. 'Although the ship is tossed about, it is still a ship. It alone carries the disciples and receives Christ. Yes, it is tossed on the sea, but, without it, one would immediately perish." "It is difficult to accept some truths, because the truths of faith are of two kinds: some pleasant, others unpalatable to our spirit. For example, it is pleasant to hear that God has so much tenderness for us, even more tenderness than a mother for her children. Other truths, on the contrary, are hard to accept. God must punish if I resist. That is not agreeable, but it is clear that Jesus and the Church are the same thing: indissoluble, inseparable. Christ and the Church are only one thing. It is not possible to say: 'I believe in Jesus, I accept Jesus, but I do not accept the Church.' "The mystery of salvation is revealed to us and is continued and accomplished in the Church...and from this genuine and single source, like 'humble, useful, precious and chaste' water, it reaches the whole world. Dear young people and members of the faithful, like Brother Francis we have to be conscious and absorb this fundamental and revealed truth, consecrated by tradition: 'There is no salvation outside the Church. (Pope John Paul II, Radio Message for Franciscan Vigil in St. Peter's and Assisi, October 3, 1981, L'Osservatore Romano, October 12, 1981.)

"The holy Roman Church believes, professes, and preaches that no one remaining outside the Catholic Church, not just pagans, but also Jews or heretics or schismatics, can become partakers of eternal life; but they will go to the 'everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels' (Matt. 25:41), unless before the end of life they are joined to the Church. For the union with the body of the Church is of such importance that the sacraments of the Church are helpful to salvation only for those remaining in it; and fasts, almsgiving, other works of piety, and the exercise of Christian warfare bear eternal rewards for them alone. And no one can be saved, no matter how much alms he has given, even if he sheds his blood for the name of Christ, unless he remains in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church." "But as for you and your companions, you certainly sin, if, having heard the decrees of the Apostolic See, and of the universal Church, and the same is confirmed by Holy Writ, you refuse to follow them; for, though your fathers were holy, do you think that their small number, in a corner of the remotest island, is to be preferred before the universal Church of Christ throughout the world? And if that Columba of yours (and, I may say, ours also, if he was Christ's servant), was a holy man and powerful in miracles, yet could he be preferred before the most blessed prince of the Apostles to whom Our Lord said 'Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it, and to thee I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven'?" When Wilfrid had spoken thus, the king said, "Is it true Colman, that these words were spoken to Peter by Our Lord?" He answered, "It is true, O king!" Then says he, "Can you show any such power given to your Columba?" Colman answered, "None." Then added the king, "Do you both agree that these words were principally directed to Peter, and that the keys of heaven were given to him by Our Lord?" They both answered. "We do." Then the king concluded, "And I also say unto you, that he is the door-keeper, whom I will not contradict, but will, as far as I know and am able, in all things obey his decrees, lest, when I come to the gates of the kingdom of heaven, there should be none to open them, he being my adversary who is proved to have the keys." "It is shown also that it is necessary for salvation to be subject to the Roman Pontiff." (Opuscula Theologica, Vol. I, Part 2, Chap. 36, Edited by Fr. Raymond A. Verardo, O.P., Marietta, Turin, 1954, p. 344.)

The one thing about the R.C.C. is that it has been remarkably consistent over time.

In the New Testament there are certain words which reveal the numeric total 666. These may well act as a mirror for 666 activity in our own lives. They may also be seen as warnings concerning the system (both present and future) which demands to be worshipped by humankind.

The word apollumetha or "we perish" is the faithless cry of Jesus' disciples caught in a sudden storm on Galilee (Lk 8:24 /Mk 4:38)."Tradition" or paradosis is echoed many times by Jesus: "But in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Matt 15:2,3,6 /Mk 7 /Gal 1:14 /Col 2:8 /2 Thess 2:15 etc).

The word pleuran, interpreted "side", is used where a Roman soldier dared believe he had completed the work at the cross by piercing Christ's side (Jn 19:34 /20:20,25 /Acts 12:7). In John 2:16 the word helkusai meaning "to draw" is used when the disciples who'd complained of having no fish, by obeying the masters command, suddenly had more fish in their nets than they could "draw out" alone.

Another word relevant to our search is euporia or "wealth". In Acts 19:25 Demetrius, who makes silver shrines for the goddess Diana is boasting about the wealth made from his trade. The word diaspora or "scattered" is found in a letter addressed to the scattered saints of God (1 Ptr 1).

These six references, when we add up their numeric value, each come to 666. The Bible warns those involved in 666 activity: "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, the Lord Jesus shall consume with the spirit of his mouth and destroy by the brightness of his coming." The word "wonders" used here is tightly sealed 666.

Asked for a sign Jesus was asked six times by his disciples for a sign. In Revelation the phrase they who worship the beast and its' image totals up to 3996 (666 x 6). Hard on the tail of this phrase is "whoever receives the mark of its' name'' (N.I.V) totals 3997 or 666 x 6.

Further light is cast on our subject when we examine the Hebrew Romiti which means "Roman man" and Romiith or "Roman kingdom". Both reveal beneath their surface 666.

For curiosity's sake let's look at Edward Gibbon's book The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. He said there were five attributes which marked the fall of the last Rome: "A mounting show of luxury, a widening gap between the rich and the poor, obsession with sex, freakishness in the arts masquerading as originality and an increased desire to live off the state."

Rome was once known as Saturnalia, "the city of Saturn". In the Chaldean mysteries the Babylonian dictator Nimrod was deified as Saturn. His birthday was celebrated on December 25th or Saturnalia. In Chaldee, Saturn is spelt STUR which totals 666.

Saturn was also synonymous with Latium Latinus (Gr: Lateinos) "the father of the Latin race". By adding the Greek letters together we again arrive at 666. Lateinos and Saturn were worshipped as "offspring of the sun".

"S" in Greek was originally the symbol for the number 6, its modern use is for 200 unless it has an emphasis mark above it. The letter was called stigma which means "a mark", especially in reference to a "brand" as burnt upon slaves, cattle or soldiers by their owners or masters.

Often devotees branded themselves as "belonging to the gods" by the same means. The word stigma comes from a word meaning "to prick or brand with irons".

"SSS" or 666 was the secret symbol of the ancient pagan mysteries connected with the worship of the Devil and was also part of the "rites of Isis".

Janus was another title used by Babylon's first ruler Nimrod. He took the title for himself claiming to be the Messiah. He set himself up as a god- man, the "promised seed of the woman", a role which only Christ could fulfil. Janus is associated with Saturn. By totalling the Greek letters we again find 666.

The Greek word Teitan is also branded 666. It is synonymous with Typhon the Serpent or Dragon, the author of wickedness. In the Chaldean this is Sheitan or Satan.

In Nimrod's time an attempt was made to establish a global language. The offspring of Noah had decided to establish a city. The move displeased Jehovah who required this remnant of humankind to go out and repopulate the whole earth.

An attempt at global kingdom was made under the rulership of Nimrod. God halted his plans by confusing their language. They were forced to scatter across the globe (Gen 11:7,9). The city became known as Babylon (confusion).

What had been one language was now many. A more recent attempt at establishing a global language seems to have been simarly confounded. Adding all the numerals of the original Latin language, including the now defunct D, we arrive once more at 666 (I = 1, V = 5, X = 10, L = 50, C = 100, D = 500).

The phrase "the Latin kingdom" also totals 666. Curiously, in the year 666 AD the Pope Vitallian issued a decree commanding the exclusive use of Latin in all services of the Roman Catholic Church.

Still on the trail of 666 we see Antiochus 1V contending for the fulfilment of Bible prophecies about "the abomination of desolation". He sacrificed a pig on the temple altar in Jerusalem. He wanted to shame the Jews into changing their faith to the Romish-Greek deities.

He forbade circumcision and destroyed all the Old Testament books he could find. He placed an idol of Zuess (Jupiter) in the Holy of Holies and took for himself the title Epiphaneia or "God manifest".

This title has the numeric value 666. In fact the whole idea of man setting himself up as God is branded with this number. The phrase "I am God on earth" totals 666.

Caesar Nero was another well known for his severe persecutions of Christians and Jews. He turned Christians into human torches to light his gardens at night, fed them to hungry lions for entertainment and had them run through with swords and burned at the stake in public ceremonies.

It's estimated about 4 million Christians are buried in the Catacombs of (?) resulting from the actions of this perverse man and his successors during the first three centuries after Christ.

Caesar Nero is spelt NRON KRS in the Hebrew, which totals 666. In the Greek Neron Caesar (Nero) totals 1332 (666 x 6).

When the Pope is crowned today there is placed upon his head a golden crown with three inner crowns representing his rulership in heaven and earth and his dominion over hell. On the main crown is the inscription "VICARIUS FILII DEI", which means "Vicar of Christ" or one who stands in the place of Christ. The "anti" in anti-Christ also means "in place of". The numeric value of the inscription on the Papal crown is 666.

However, I would warn against naming the Pope or any individual as inheritor of the horrors of 666. I suggest the mystical number, instead speaks to all of us.

It points out clearly that humankind without God has missed the mark (sinned). We have fallen short of what we are meant to be.

Having been shown our error we are pointed to the "higher calling in Christ Jesus". I believe individually we all have 666 potential. This can manifest in a materialistic, domineering, dictatorial, animal nature which thrives on power games, lust, or possession and position.

Six six six is the ultimate, sinful Godless system or man. Six falls short of God's perfect number 7. Six is the "number of the beast" (animal nature) pursuing only self interest and gratification for the five senses. 666 is material activity rather than spiritual - it is works without faith.

Six sixty six governs the lower universe under the name Lucifer, who disguising himself as an angel of light, brings subtle erosion and deception pleasingly packaged.

Triple six is tyranny and self willed government. It is the electric attractive power of the dictator who drums up hysterical support for his destructive ends.

Six six six is Rome and all Caesars, past present and future, who are only interested in power (money and influence) and the destruction of all Christian principles.

Jesus himself was once offered the job as leader over all the nations of the world. But it was not his time. "And the Devil, taking him up into a high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment in time (Luke 4:5). Kingdoms of the world totals 3996 (666 x 6).

Satan said "all of these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." Now if Christ turned down the position (he would have had to by-pass the cross) then what lesser man can be trusted with it? - Keith Newman
