Pope Francis Proposes ‘Europe First’

VATICAN - Pope Francis said that citizens of European nations should put the good of Europe before that of their own countries in a remarkably frank interview Friday. “The thinking must be ‘Europe first, then each one of us,’” the pope said in a wide-ranging interview with the Italian daily La Stampa. “‘Each one of us’ is not secondary, it is important, but Europe counts more.”

“Never forget that ‘the whole is greater than the parts.’ Globalization, unity, should not be conceived as a sphere, but as a polyhedron: each people retains its identity in unity with others,” he said. “In the European Union, we must talk to each other, confront each other and get to know each other. Yet sometimes we see only compromise monologues. No: we also need to listen,” he said. The pontiff made no attempt to conceal his contempt for the policies of Italy’s interior minister, Matteo Salvini, whose motto has been “Italians first.” Francis even went so far as to compare Salvini’s speeches to those of Adolph Hitler.

In his interview, the pope also seemed to embrace popular notions that Europe and the European Union (EU) are virtually the same thing, so that to weaken the EU is to weaken Europe. “Europe cannot and must not break apart. It is a historical, cultural as well as a geographical unity,” Francis said. “The dream of the Founding Fathers had substance because it was an implementation of this unity. Now, we must not lose this heritage.”

Our comment

For some time now, end time events have been falling into place. We see an impending worldwide financial crisis, we see even Germany having major trading problems - risking losing its hard earned prosperity - along with trade wars with the US, while the EU itself shows signs of breaking up. It needs a strong leader!

However, one aspect has been missing – input from the Roman Catholic Church – until now!

Note the Pope’s recent comments: “The thinking must be ‘Europe first, then each one of us,’” then he continued, “Europe cannot and must not break apart. It is a historical, cultural as well as a geographical unity,” Francis said. “The dream of the Founding Fathers had substance because it was an implementation of this unity. Now, we must not lose this HERITAGE.”

The message has not changed. “Return to your roots”,experience again those authentic values that made your history glorious…” And now… “The thinking must be ‘Europe first, then each one of us,’” and finally, “we must not lose this heritage”!

Remember the message from Pope John Paul II… back in 1982?

“I, bishop of Rome and pastor of the Universal Church, from Santiago, address to you, old Europe, a cry full of love: Return to yourself! Be yourself! Discover your origins. Revive your roots. Experience again those authentic values that made your history glorious and your presence in other continents beneficial." (catholicnewsagency.com)

Can A Leopard Really Change Its Spots?

The answer is ‘No’!

Remember the result of those Roman Catholic “authentic values” during the Middle Ages - the Inquisition, when millions died for defying the Church.

We understand from prophecy that there will shortly be another great Inquisition – the Bible refers to it as the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21) – when once again many will be killed for going against the teachings, the authentic values, of the Roman Catholic Church. (Revelation 6:9-11)

At a time of impending crisis, the Roman Catholic Church is pointing Europe back to its “authentic values”! We have been warned…

“Just what is an APOSTLE?”
Just what is an Apostle?

Today we find the Church of God in a “wilderness of religious confusion!”

The confusion is not merely around the Church – within the religions of the world outside – but WITHIN the very heart of The True Church itself!
