UK - Some people refer to them as Generation Y, others as the millennials. My favourite title for today’s young folk, though, is the Snowflake Generation. I heard it on the television this week, as the education editor of a national paper bravely tried to make sense of the news that a student had been threatened with violating university ‘safe space’ rules, simply by raising her hand.
Imogen Wilson, the smiley 22-year old vice president for academic affairs at Edinburgh University’s Student Association (now there’s a mouthful), found herself the subject of a vote by fellow students when she stuck her arm in the air during a council meeting, after someone wrongly accused her of not responding to an open letter. That gesture was deemed ‘inappropriate’ as, according to rules and regulations drawn up by people so prissy they make Hyacinth Bucket look like a swinger, “disagreements should only be evident through the course of normal debate.”
Ms Wilson said that safe space rules were “becoming a tool for the hard left to use when they disagree with people.” Her fellow students voted in favour of her staying in the meeting – though incredibly, 18 of them were precious enough to want her out.
Still, I shouldn’t say much more unless the special little snowflakes read this and accuse me of violating their right to be special little snowflakes. I’m big enough and ugly enough to know by now that the defining characteristic of this supposedly tolerant generation is to not tolerate those they don’t agree with. Block them. No platform them. Create a petition to ban them. I disapprove of what you say, and I will defend to the death my right to not hear you say it!
Another proof that we are in the “last days”?
The fact is verified by the attitude of many of the people. As the writer of this article points out: “…the defining characteristic of this supposedly tolerant generation is to not tolerate those they don’t agree with.”
The classic example of this is obvious in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) groups. This tiny minority group not only demand tolerance for their own perverted lifestyle, they are totally intolerant of those people who lead normal lives.
This is the end time attitude which we are warned of in the Bible. The Apostle Paul, writing to Timothy, warned:
“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.” (2 Timothy 3:1-4 Holy Bible, NLT)
This is an attitude that is destroying the nations of modern day Israel - Britain and America. Here is what God has to say…
“This is the reply of the Holy One of Israel: Because you despise what I tell you and trust instead in oppression and lies, calamity will come upon you suddenly — like a bulging wall that bursts and falls. In an instant it will collapse and come crashing down. You will be smashed like a piece of pottery — shattered so completely that there won't be a piece big enough to carry coals from a fireplace or a little water from the well.” (Isaiah 30:12-14)

Today we find the Church of God in a “wilderness of religious confusion!”
The confusion is not merely around the Church – within the religions of the world outside – but WITHIN the very heart of The True Church itself!
