Our congregations in this age were established under Mr Herbert W Armstrong who was the Pastor General of the Worldwide Church of God (a spiritual organism) until his death in 1986.
Because scripture clearly indicates that it is impossible to understand God's Way through the human mind alone (John 6:44; 1 Corinthians 2:14), we conclude that the profound understanding given must have come through specific revelation. We therefore concur with Mr Armstrong's own perception - that he was the apostle God sent to restore all things as prophesied by Christ in Matthew 17:11. For this reason, The Church of God in Wales strives to faithfully preserve the doctrine, practice and organisation under which we were originally founded.
We do not publish a statement of beliefs, Mr Armstrong did not do so for the general public when he was alive. To understand more, we suggest you read the literature and listen to the sermons, bible-studies and prophetic news analyses.
We would particularly like to draw your attention to an article entitled “That Way” together with “Restored Doctrines” in which Mr Herbert W Armstrong spoke of many of the doctrinal teachings restored within the True Church, by God, through him.
However, the greatest source of information - that explains why we believe as we do – can be found within the booklet “Just What is an APOSTLE?”. This booklet is also available in printed form - FREE on request, simply contact us at email with your name and address.
We currently operate under the name, “Church of God - in Wales” because our first independent congregation was in Wales within the UK. This congregation began when - following the death of Mr Armstrong - it became clear that the Worldwide Church of God had irrevocably removed itself from beneath the authority that God places over it. We remain independent to this day as, try as we may, we can find no senior God-ordained and aligned individual through whom God's Government is specifically flowing at this time.
Today, the church has several other congregations in both the UK and the rest of the world. Wherever the Sabbath and Holy day services may physically take place, the congregations that can then join us via a private internet audio connection. These congregations are as far-flung as Denmark, Nigeria, South Africa, Canada and throughout the United States. The Feast of Tabernacles is observed at sites in the UK, USA, Africa and the Philippines.
