Theresa May accused of Brexit betrayal

UK - Theresa May was accused of "Brexit betrayal" by Ukip on Wednesday after she asked the European Union to consider a longer transition period. EU freedom of movement and the supremacy of European judges over British courts could drag on even longer after Brexit, following the UK's request. But Gerard Batten,  a Ukip MEP and the party's interim leader, said: “This is Brexit betrayal at its contemptible worst. It’s time for May to go and for a genuine Brexiteer to step up for role of Prime Minister.”

Arab states speeding up nuclear arms race

MIDDLE EAST - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be the first state to operate a nuclear reactor (made in South Korea). Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Sudan, Tunisia and Algeria are expected to follow in its footsteps, having declared their intention to build nuclear reactors. Each of these countries is in the process of implementing the plan.  Saudi Arabia, will be the second Arab country in the Persian Gulf with nuclear energy. Dr Shay believes the information collected as part of the research supports Israel's claim that the fear of a nuclear Iran is prompting Middle Eastern countries to acquire knowledge and nuclear technology. This trend is particularly evident among Iran's rivals — Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan and the Persian Gulf countries.

Iran already entrenched in Syria

IRAN - A New York Times investigative report published Monday revealed the scope and depth of Iranian entrenchment in Syria. Iran, through its presence in Syria, was "redrawing the strategic map of the region," as per the paper. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cautioned this week that Iran was "trying to take over Syria" and "moving its army into Israel's backyard." The American newspaper mapped out Iranian bases and posts inside Syria, presenting a high concentration of Iranian outposts along the border with Israel. Iran has trained and continues to finance powerful militias comprised of thousands of Iranian-trained guerrillas on Syrian soil, according to the Times' report.

Damming the Nile

EGYPT - A new dam on the Nile could trigger a war over water - unless Ethiopia can agree a deal with Egypt and Sudan.

Transgender Ideology Powered by $400 Million from Business and Advocates

USA - The transgender ideology is being covertly funded by a network of wealthy transgender donors and a variety of investors in the drug, surgery and healthcare industries, says Jenifer Bilek, a New York-based feminist. Bilek tracked the flow of pro-transgender funding via donors and business groups, and she argues more than $400 million has been spent to promote the claim that men can switch their “gender” to become legal women whenever they want to do so.

Germany’s political identity crisis

GERMANY - The next four years in Germany will be anything but boring. A tectonic shift is taking place in Germany that will either revitalize or paralyze its usually staid political culture.  The Social Democrats — whose astonishing self-destruction in recent weeks took the country by surprise — are fighting this battle early and under extreme public pressure. At its core, the SPD is wrestling with what kind of party it wants to be.

Hey, Alexa, Siri, and Google — Are You Indoctrinating My Kids?

USA - Tech-savvy parents are using big tech’s new AI systems — Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant — as surrogate babysitters. But what happens when children start viewing these bias-ridden systems as authority figures? According to the research firm eMarketer, approximately 68 million consumers use AI assistants on their phones or voice-enabled smart speakers like the Amazon Echo, Google Home, or Apple’s new HomePod. They are especially popular among parents, many of whom are setting up assistants in children’s rooms.

'Snowflake' children are mollycoddled

UK - A boarding school head teacher has warned that children are being "mollycoddled" and are not prepared to put in the effort required in the world of work. Douglas Robb, 47, sparked a backlash from former pupils after accusing the so-called Snowflake generation of having an "underlying sense of entitlement".

Germany seeks new spy satellites to get intel ‘independently from US’

GERMANY - Berlin has launched a new satellite program for its intelligence service (BND) in an attempt to escape US influence in spying matters, Die Zeit daily reports. The project has already proven to be costlier than planned. Germany plans to spend €400 million ($465 million) on two of the “latest-generation satellites” for its foreign intelligence service. The budget committee of the German parliament (Bundestag) already approved the financing of the costly project back in early November 2017. The ambitious project is apparently aimed at making Berlin less dependent on Washington, as the German security services are said to rely heavily on satellite data provided by their US partners.

“We will level Tel Aviv to the ground”

IRAN - Any attacks carried out against Iran will result in the destruction of Tel Aviv, Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council, warned Israel on Monday. The comment reported by the semi-official Fars News Agency came in response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks at the Munich Security Conference.

We Can Roll Back Iran's Aggression

GERMANY - Henry Kissinger said that Iran must choose between being a country or a cause. Well, the regime in Iran has chosen to be a cause. The commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Ali Jafari, said, we're on the path to the rule of Islam worldwide. That means right here too. This is, in my judgement, the greatest threat to our world. Not just to Israel, not just to our Arab neighbors, not just to Muslims far and wide, but to you as well. Because once armed with nuclear weapons, Iran's aggression will be unchecked and it will encompass the entire world. Look at what they are doing now, before they have nuclear weapons. Imagine what they will do later if G-d forbid they'll have them.

The storm split in two systems as it moved across the country after landfall - one on the western side of the South Island and the other to the east of the South Island. Emergency status has been lifted for the city of Christchurch. But Christchurch only received around half the amount of rain it was forecast, Mayor Lianne Dalziel said: "We were lucky this time.”

 'Christianity is Europe's last hope'

HUNGARY - Hungary's Prime Minister has claimed that 'Christianity is Europe's last hope' after accusing politicians in Brussels, Berlin and Paris of causing the 'decline of Christian culture and the advance of Islam'. During his annual state of the nation speech, Viktor Orban said his government will oppose efforts by the United Nations or the European Union to 'increase migration' around the world.

Listen to Me, You who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My Law: …I have put My words in your mouth, I have covered you with the shadow of My hand, That I may plant the heavens, Lay the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, “you are My people” (Isaiah 51:7,16)
