RUSSIA - Vladimir Putin has declared war on the billionaire George Soros. Last year, Putin publicly announced that Soros would never be allowed to either set foot in Russia or conduct business there again after his harmful financial speculation in the country caused considered damage to the Russian economy when the country was in the vulnerable process of adapting to capitalism.
JAPAN - A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck early on Tuesday local time off the Japanese coast about 70km northeast of Iwaki, Fukushima. The quake, with a depth of 25km, occurred about 6am and tsunami waves began to hit Japan's Pacific coast in numerous areas including Fukushima Prefecture about 7am. Initial waves were between 30-90cm in high but larger waves were expected to hit after that. By 8am, 1.4m tsunami waves were observed in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, north of Fukushima. The Japanese Meteorological Agency said tsunami waves could reach three metres high and warned people to evacuate in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures.
NEW ZEALAND - New Zealand has been hit by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake off North Island, USGS reports, just hours after Japan suffered a 7.4 magnitude jolt and a series of aftershocks off the Fukushima coast which unleashed tsunami waves. The earthquake, initially estimated at magnitude 6.3, was registered at a depth of 37km (23 miles) and centered off the coast of North Island, some 123km (76 miles) from Palmerston North. New Zealand is regularly hit by earthquakes because it sits in between the Indo-Australian and Pacific tectonic plates.
USA - Is Barack Obama about to make the most catastrophic decision of his entire presidency? Former UN Ambassador John Bolton is warning that there is “a lot of speculation” over at UN headquarters right now about “resolutions that recognize a Palestinian state or that try and set a boundary for Israel based on the 1967 ceasefire lines”.
USA - As we all know the country has spoken and Donald Trump is set to be the 45th president of the United States. He won the election fair and square, despite what the whiny liberals have to say about it. Of course that means that with his victory, President Obama is on his way out. We are literally two months away from having President Obama leave the White House. That is something that should be applauded, considering the destruction that he has caused the country over the past eight years. But there was a fear that some Republicans had regarding the time leftover in office.
RUSSIA - In an exclusive interview with RT, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, shared his ideas on... European multiculturalism.
ISRAEL - Two complaints of incitement have been filed to the police against Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem Shlomo Amar for comments he has made calling men and women from the LGBT community “a cult of abomination,” and stating that they are liable to the death penalty according to Jewish law. Several more complaints are expected to be filed on Friday.
EUROPE - THE euro has plunged to its lowest level against the dollar since December 2015, as experts warned the currency could collapse next week amid concerns for the eurozone economy. Investors have frantically dumped the single currency over 10 consecutive trading sessions - the worst performance since the euro was introduced in 1999. Head of the European Central Bank (ECB) Mario Draghi failed to ease fears after warning that the eurozone recovery depends on action by monetary policymakers.
USA - As the mainstream media runs amuck with it’s crackdown on fake news critics are claiming the crackdown is nothing more than a free speech crackdown on conversation speech. Facebook CEO has outlined a plan for cracking down on fake news which urges users to use “legitimate fact checking organizations” such as Snopes and Politifact to verify the authenticity of a story.
UK - Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has called on faith leaders to “stand up and take responsibility” for religious violence around the world. The archbishop insisted we must not shy away from making religion part of the conversation as security and political officials scramble to respond to extremism.
USA - Donald Trump is not the president yet, and Barack Obama could still do an extraordinary amount of damage during his last two months in the White House. Prior to the election, I described the period of time ending on January 20th as “the danger zone”, and my outlook has not changed just because Donald Trump was victorious on election night.
INDIA - "Faith In System Shaken". Amid scenes of panic across India, following PM Modi's shock decision to withdraw high-value bills in the middle of the sowing and wedding season, Reuters reports the move, aimed at cracking down on the shadow economy, has brought India's cash economy to a virtual standstill.
USA - Dozens of major regulations passed recently by the Obama administration — including far-reaching changes on health care, consumer protections and environmental safety — could be undone with the stroke of a pen by Donald J Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress starting in January, thanks to a little-used law that dates back to 1996.
USA - I am not surprised to read that Obama has basically declared war on Alternative Media, calling it “fake news”. We all know there are some fake news websites, but most of us do not gravitate to nor quote those sites. I try to have several trusted sources, and I try to add a video when I can. The whole problem for Obama and the liberals is that Alternative Media helped Trump to win the Presidency. We were able to “talk” to Trump on social media, and he made fast friends with us.
USA - If Donald Trump truly wants to fix the economy, he must shut down the Federal Reserve. If he just tries to patch up our current system, he will fail, because it has been fundamentally flawed from the very beginning. A little over a century ago, very powerful forces on Wall Street convinced Congress to completely restructure our financial system.
