EUROPE - Angela Merkel cut an increasingly isolated figure in Europe tonight as the rest of the continent ganged up on Germany over its imposition of crippling austerity. Major EU nations including France, Italy and Spain are clubbing together to form a new alliance with the aim of wrestling back economic power from the German leader.
GERMANY - At the end of July, Germany was hit by a series of violent attacks, three of which were carried out by asylum seekers. So are Germans turning against Chancellor Angela Merkel's refugee policy? Damien McGuinness in Berlin is not convinced.
RUSSIA - President Putin is no enemy to Europe and can work successfully with the US on solving the Syrian crisis, the former Israeli PM Shimon Peres told RT. He also shared his vision concerning the Middle East peace process and fighting extremism in Europe. Peres, a 93-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner and Israeli political heavyweight, spoke to RT’s Paula Slier, who mentioned the fact that he met Russian president Putin on multiple occasions. “I understood that actually, that Putin has in his heart, a wish not to fight Europe, but to be part of Europe,” Peres, a former Israeli President and Prime Minister said, apparently referring to the recent heightened tensions between Russia and the EU.
GERMANY - The leader of Germany's liberal Free Democrats (FDP) likened Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan's purge of state institutions to the actions of the Nazi party in the 1930s in comments published on Sunday. FDP leader Christian Lindner said he saw parallels between Erdogan's behavior and the aftermath of the Reichstag fire in 1933 portrayed by the Nazis as a Communist plot against the government and used by Adolf Hitler to justify massively curtailing civil liberties. "We are experiencing a coup d'etat from above like in 1933 after the Reichstag fire. He is building an authoritarian regime tailored solely to himself," Lindner told the Bild am Sonntag. "Because the rights and freedoms of the individual no longer play a role, he cannot be a partner for Europe," he added.
USA - “We all know ignorance of the law is no excuse. If you violate a law, you suffer the penalty for it. If you take the US code as it exists right now, today, if you read 700 pages a week of the US code, national calculations are that you can finish the US code in only 25,000 years.”
JAPAN - Japan convoked an emergency meeting of the National Security Council after North Korea fired a missile last Wednesday, which presumably dropped in the Japanese exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan, media reported. The decisions made at the meeting are not disclosed so far, Kyodo agency said. Earlier in the day, the South Korean military registered North Korea launching a ballistic missile presumed to be a Rodong with a range of 1000 kilometers (621 miles) from the province of Hwanghae-Namdo in the direction of the Sea of Japan.
INDIA - The joint Indo-Russian program will provide New Delhi with a high-flying nuclear deterrent ensuring the continued safety and security of the Indian people despite increased regional tension. The final test firing of the nuclear-capable Indo-Russian BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from a Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jet, a major force-multiplier for the Indian Air Force (IAF), is slated to take place later this month. The missile surges at Mach 2.8 speed (2,148MPH or 3,457kmh). The plan calls for 40 Indian jets to be equipped with the Brahmos missile as part of a joint project between India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia’s Federal State Unitary Enterprise NP Mashinostroyenia (NPOM).
EUROPE – A United States of Europe (EU) is exactly what Hitler envisioned through military conquest. Now it has happened via the Bankers, mostly German bankers and media persuasion.

USA - It has been a major week for Republican presidential nominee Donald J Trump. The Republican establishment is not happy with his unwillingness to support Republicans who have helped enact the Obama agenda, and the media can’t stand how Trump never backs away from a fight. Does this mean Trump will moderate, start using a teleprompter, and try to play nicely with Washington insiders? Of course not!
USA - If Donald Trump wins in November, will Barack Obama leave office and hand over power in an orderly fashion? Normally we would not even have to ask such a question, but these are not normal times. This week, Obama publicly stated that Trump “is unfit to serve as President” and that he is “woefully unprepared to do this job”. In addition, he told the press that Trump “doesn’t have the judgment, the temperament, the understanding to occupy the most powerful position in the world.”
USA - I just listened to Obama give Washington’s account of the situation with ISIL in Iraq and Syria. In Obama’s account, Washington is defeating ISIL in Iraq, but Russia and Assad are defeating the Syrian people in Syria. Obama denounced Russia and the Syrian government — but not ISIL — as barbaric. The message was clear: Washington still intends to overthrow Assad and turn Syria into another Libya and another Iraq, formerly stable and prosperous countries where war now rages continually. It sickens me to hear the President of the United States lie and construct a false reality, so I turned off the broadcast. We were promised that a low-cost “cakewalk” war of three or six weeks duration would bring “freedom and democracy” to Iraq. Why is it that 13 years later Iraq is a hellhole of war and destruction?
RUSSIA - As the United States continues to develop and upgrade their nuclear weapons capabilities at an alarming rate, America’s ruling class refuses to heed warnings from President Vladimir Putin that Russia will respond as necessary.
USA - Christian NFL player Ben Watson does not hesitate to call out Planned Parenthood’s targeting of minority women and their babies for abortions. In a recent interview with Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center in San Diego, the Baltimore Ravens player talked about the racial divide in America and how it factors into the abortion issue.
USA - That phrase usually is attributed to PT Barnum. Actually, there is no proof of its origin, but it was a sentiment that was widely shared by crooked gamblers and con artists of the 19th Century. In fact, it still is, particularly among modern day politicians.
