The administration has already taken the first step to accommodate President-elect Trump’s positions, agreeing Friday to take a timeout on President Obama’s push to kick-start his 2014 deportation amnesty.
RUSSIA - Vladimir Putin has declared war on the billionaire George Soros. Last year, Putin publicly announced that Soros would never be allowed to either set foot in Russia or conduct business there again after his harmful financial speculation in the country caused considered damage to the Russian economy when the country was in the vulnerable process of adapting to capitalism.
JAPAN - A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck early on Tuesday local time off the Japanese coast about 70km northeast of Iwaki, Fukushima. The quake, with a depth of 25km, occurred about 6am and tsunami waves began to hit Japan's Pacific coast in numerous areas including Fukushima Prefecture about 7am. Initial waves were between 30-90cm in high but larger waves were expected to hit after that. By 8am, 1.4m tsunami waves were observed in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, north of Fukushima. The Japanese Meteorological Agency said tsunami waves could reach three metres high and warned people to evacuate in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures.
NEW ZEALAND - New Zealand has been hit by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake off North Island, USGS reports, just hours after Japan suffered a 7.4 magnitude jolt and a series of aftershocks off the Fukushima coast which unleashed tsunami waves. The earthquake, initially estimated at magnitude 6.3, was registered at a depth of 37km (23 miles) and centered off the coast of North Island, some 123km (76 miles) from Palmerston North. New Zealand is regularly hit by earthquakes because it sits in between the Indo-Australian and Pacific tectonic plates.

Several more complaints are expected to be filed on Friday.
EUROPE - THE euro has plunged to its lowest level against the dollar since December 2015, as experts warned the currency could collapse next week amid concerns for the eurozone economy. Investors have frantically dumped the single currency over 10 consecutive trading sessions - the worst performance since the euro was introduced in 1999. Head of the European Central Bank (ECB) Mario Draghi failed to ease fears after warning that the eurozone recovery depends on action by monetary policymakers.
USA - As the mainstream media runs amuck with it’s crackdown on fake news critics are claiming the crackdown is nothing more than a free speech crackdown on conversation speech. Facebook CEO has outlined a plan for cracking down on fake news which urges users to use “legitimate fact checking organizations” such as Snopes and Politifact to verify the authenticity of a story.
UK - Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has called on faith leaders to “stand up and take responsibility” for religious violence around the world. The archbishop insisted we must not shy away from making religion part of the conversation as security and political officials scramble to respond to extremism.
