Massive Discovery of Rare Earths in Wyoming

USA - Much of today’s high tech, for computer, automobile, communications and military applications, requires ingredients called rare earth minerals. They are not widely available and China, with an estimated 44 million metric tons of resources, has been the source for some 95% of those components used around the world. That makes the US dependent on an unfriendly Communist regime for significant advances in its technology. Already confirmed are minerals like neodymium, praseodymium, samarium, dysprosium and terbium. Such are used in smartphones, hybrid vehicles, military applications and more.

Tucker Carlson's Interview With Putin

RUSSIA - Tucker Carlson on Thursday released his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which found the two discussing the war in Ukraine, NATO expansion and Russia's relationship with the United States. The interview — recorded on Tuesday and first released exclusively online via the Tucker Carlson Network — runs for over two hours, during which Putin also shared his thoughts on topics such as AI (international regulations may someday be needed) and on the next president of the US. When Carlson asked if he thought Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky still "has the freedom to negotiate a settlement to this conflict," Putin answered that he believes so.

The Elite's Don’t Want Peace

USA - This week, the biggest news story in the entire world is Tucker Carlson’s interview with Vladimir Putin. I give Tucker Carlson a ton of credit for going to Russia and sitting down with Putin. I think that the real reason he did this is because he wanted to see for himself if there is any hope of avoiding a cataclysmic conflict between our two nations. Every day we get even closer to the unthinkable, and so it would make sense for both sides to pursue a peaceful way out of this mess. But at this point the western elite are not interested in peace, and they don’t want any talk of peace in the media. So they are going to great lengths to discredit Tucker Carlson’s interview with Putin, because they don’t want their carefully crafted narratives to be disrupted.

How Gaza Reunited the Middle East

MIDDLE EAST - On December 25, an Israeli airstrike killed a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard official, Sayyed Razi Mousavi, in the Shiite-controlled Sayyida Zaynab neighborhood of Damascus. On January 2, Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy head of Hamas and a founder of its military wing, was assassinated in an Israeli drone attack in south Beirut, a stronghold of the militant Shiite group Hezbollah. Hezbollah and Israel have exchanged fire almost daily since October 7, and Israel has assassinated several senior Hezbollah figures. In the Red Sea, the Houthis, who are adherents of a variant of Shiism, have relentlessly attacked commercial shipping, provoking the United States and the United Kingdom to strike Houthi targets in Yemen. There is a real danger that this back-and-forth could lead to a direct US military conflict with Iran.

Hamas Will Not Accept a ‘Two-State Solution’

MIDDLE EAST - A senior Hamas terrorist told a Lebanese news outlet, which the allied jihadist group Hezbollah operates, on Thursday that his group would offer “no compromise” on the destruction of Israel, describing the Jewish state as having “no future in the region.” Osama Hamdan, the top Hamas representative in Lebanon, threatened all who support the existence of Israel, telling Hezbollah’s al-Manar news, “Whoever counts on it or attaches their future to it will lose.” Hamdan’s comments echo the ideological provisions of the Hamas terrorist charter and statements made since 2023 by officials in Iran, the world’s premier state sponsor of terrorism and a top Hamas financier. The allied government of Iran, which celebrated the mass killings on October 7 by holding a street party in Tehran, has also repeatedly asserted that it had no interest in a “two-state solution” because Iran did not support Israel’s right to exist.

US intelligence officials tell Congress Israel not close to destroying Hamas

USA - US intelligence officials briefed members of Congress this week on Israel's war effort against Hamas in Gaza, according to a New York Times report. The officials reportedly said that while Israel had significantly degraded Hamas’ military capabilities, it was not close to eliminating Hamas. The US Biden administration is becoming increasingly critical of Israel as the war extends into its fourth month. With the latest hostage negotiations allegedly deadlocked over what Netanyahu called Hamas’ “delusional” terms, the Israeli War Cabinet is pushing ahead with military operations in the southern Gaza Strip. “I would like to emphasize again – there is no other solution than total victory,” Netanyahu said, claiming that failure to defeat Hamas would mean that “it is only a matter of time until the next massacre.”

Satanic Temple Claims Abortion Is Part of Their Religion

USA - A satanic group is continuing attempts to overturn abortion bans in pro-life states by filing lawsuits claiming abortion is part of their religion. The Satanic Temple (TST), a nonprofit based in Salem, Massachusetts, has filed lawsuits in Missouri, Indiana, Texas, and Idaho that so far have been unsuccessful. That hasn’t stopped the headline-grabbing organization from plaintiff-shopping for new religious freedom lawsuits to stop abortion bans, according to its website. The group doesn’t shy away from controversy. It made news recently for staging a satanic holiday display featuring a silver goat head atop blood-red robes during Christmas at the Iowa Capitol. The Baphomet statue shared space with a Christmas display until it was decapitated.

Christianity Is a Lame Joke

UK - Some called it the “Rave at the Nave,” but others use terms like “sacrilege” to describe two ’90s-themed silent discos held at one of the United Kingdom’s oldest cathedrals. The beautiful interior of Canterbury Cathedral looked more like a vintage ’90s-era nightclub than a revered place of worship on Thursday night. Dozens of revelers jumped up and down with glow sticks while listening to beats on their headphones. Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most revered houses of worship in all of Christianity. Founded in 597 CE, the church is the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the senior bishop of the Church of England and principal leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

World entering ‘age of chaos’ – UN chief

UNITED NATIONS - The intergovernmental organization is more divided at present than it was during the Cold War, its leader has said. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Wednesday that the world is moving towards an “age of chaos” as a divided Security Council struggles to adapt to critical geopolitical issues and ongoing global crises. In his annual address presenting his priorities for 2024 to the Security Council in New York, Guterres said that conflicts and wars across the globe are creating a “dangerous and unpredictable” reality for innocent civilians.

The result of Taiwan’s election is bad news for the US

TAIWAN - In 2023, the volume of trade between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait was $268 billion. This means Taipei traded more with its main adversary, Beijing, than with its foremost ally, Washington. And for Chinese business, Taiwan was a more important counterparty than the state’s key strategic partner, Russia.

War With The West Would Result In “The End To Everything”

RUSSIA - The Russians have warned us over and over again that they will use nuclear weapons if they are forced into a direct war with western powers. So why are most western leaders not taking those threats seriously? Ukraine is not worth fighting a nuclear war over. Both sides would be wise to try to find a peaceful resolution while it is still possible to do so. But instead, we continue to see escalation after escalation. In particular, the Biden administration seems determined to see how close it can go without pushing things completely over the edge. This is very foolish, because the Russians are very serious about fighting a nuclear war if they are pushed too far.

Fear drives a war mentality

GERMANY - In the run-up to NATO’s large-scale manoeuvre “Steadfast GERMANY - Defender” media coverage has been increasingly warning the Western public of a Russian attack within the next twenty or even five years. Germany’s Defence Minister, Boris Pistorius, has declared that he envisages a widening of the war in Ukraine, even if he does not expect an attack by Russia at present. A leading NATO admiral does not rule out an uncontrolled escalation. 90,000 soldiers are currently deployed for Steadfast Defender exercises as close as possible to Russia’s western border.

Pope denounces 'hypocrisy' of those who criticise LGBT blessings

VATICAN - Pope Francis said he sees "hypocrisy" in criticism of his decision to allow priests to bless same-sex couples, possibly his most strongly worded defence of the move. LGBT blessings were authorised last month by a Vatican document called Fiducia Supplicans (Supplicating Trust), but that has met with significant resistance in the Catholic Church, particularly from African bishops. "Nobody gets scandalised if I give my blessings to a businessman who perhaps exploits people, and this is a very grave sin. But they get scandalised if I give them to a homosexual," Francis told Italian Catholic magazine Credere. "This is hypocrisy," he said.

Farmers: Huge unrest 'inevitable' over 'catastrophic' new rules

WALES - Farmers in Wales are warning that protests are "inevitable" over planned Welsh government reforms. Former rugby referee-turned-farmer Nigel Owens is set to be one of hundreds of people attending a meeting in Carmarthenshire on Thursday (February 8). It follows a meeting in Welshpool last week that was attended by more than 1,000. Unions are warning that a new subsidy scheme for farms, set to come in from 2025, is "unworkable".

California storm: After 5 days, the rain has stopped

USA - After five straight days, it stopped raining in California on Thursday. The statewide death toll from the mega atmospheric river storm climbed to nine on Tuesday, and it included the first storm-related deaths in Southern California. Four were killed by fallen trees in Northern California and two died in car wrecks in the Southland, officials said. Five US Marines aboard a military helicopter that went down during stormy weather in the mountains outside San Diego are confirmed dead, a Marine commander said. It is not known whether the treacherous conditions played a role.

“Just what is an APOSTLE?”
Just what is an Apostle?

Today we find the Church of God in a “wilderness of religious confusion!”

The confusion is not merely around the Church – within the religions of the world outside – but WITHIN the very heart of The True Church itself!

Listen to Me, You who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My Law: …I have put My words in your mouth, I have covered you with the shadow of My hand, That I may plant the heavens, Lay the foundations of the earth, and say to Zion, “you are My people” (Isaiah 51:7,16)
