IRAN - After almost two years of war in Ukraine and weeks of devastating airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, now fresh destruction and death in Iran after Pakistan attacked it on Thursday. Authorities in Tehran claimed that three women, four men and two children were killed. Yet in recent years, these two countries have been allied on several issues. Why has neighbour turned on neighbour?
ISRAEL - The rift between Joe Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu deepened on Thursday as the Israeli Prime Minister accused the US of trying to 'coerce' Israel. In an interview on national TV, Netanyahu rejected US calls to scale back Israel´s military offensive in the Gaza Strip and take steps toward the establishment of a Palestinian state after the war. Netanyahu accused the US of trying to 'coerce' Israel into a situation which would 'endanger' the country and said 'we will not settle for anything short of an absolute victory'. White House national security spokesman John Kirby immediately responded, saying: 'We obviously see it differently.' The Biden administration is desperately seeking to distance itself from the conflict ahead of this year's general election amid growing disquiet among voters over the Palestinian death toll - which Hamas claims has hit almost 25,000. The cost of the war has led to increasing calls from the international community to halt the offensive.
ISRAEL - Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel is already carrying out direct attacks on Iran and is making every possible effort to prevent Tehran from attaining nuclear weapons. Answering a reporter’s question about why Israel was conducting attacks on Iran’s proxies rather than attacking the country directly, the Israeli Prime Minister responded by saying: “Who says we are not attacking Iran, we are attacking.”
USA - Are you convinced that we are headed for societal collapse? If so, you are definitely not alone. Survey after survey has shown that faith in all of our major institutions is dropping, and there is a growing consensus that very challenging times are ahead of us. Here in 2024, we will be facing the most chaotic election season in our entire history, multiple wars are erupting all over the planet, economic problems are rapidly growing, destructive natural disasters are becoming more frequent, global authorities are warning us to brace ourselves for the next pandemic, and our cities are being absolutely overwhelmed by endless waves of new migrants.
GERMANY - Germany is in severe crisis. Between a tanking economy and an increasingly unpopular government, the country has begun to show just how much stress it is under. Half a year ago, the head of German carmaker Volkswagen warned that “the roof is on fire,” while The Economist concluded that “disaster,” meaning not just the decline but collapse of the German car industry, is “no longer inconceivable.”
ISRAEL - European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Friday that the only peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict included the creation of a Palestinian state, and he suggested this might need to “be imposed from the outside,” without Israel’s agreement. Borrell, in a speech at the University of Valladolid in Spain, said that without international intervention, the “spiral of hate will continue generation after generation,” according to multiple Spanish media outlets. “The actors are too opposed to be able to reach an agreement autonomously,” Borrell said. “If everyone is in favor of this solution, the international community will have to impose it.”
UK - The world is shrinking! How wars, volcanic eruptions, floods, attacks on cargo ships and political unrest are putting so many countries off-limits. From the treasures of the Holy Land in Israel to the shores of the Black Sea, the wilds of Iceland and the coastline of Ecuador, more of the world is no-go now for tourism than at any time since the pandemic. MSC Cruises announced this week that it is cancelling any voyages that were due to pass through the Suez Canal and Red Sea, instead sending its ships back to Europe without passengers around the west coast of Africa. Passengers are being offered refunds or alternative sailings.
UK - The Third World War is coming, and Britain is likely to be fighting a many-sided conflict against Russia, Iran, China and North Korea within five years. That is not scaremongering. It's the warning this week from Grant Shapps who, in his first major speech as Defence Minister, announced that we are 'moving from a post-war to a pre-war world'. We are already embroiled in this New World Disorder. We face a 'multi-crisis' that includes the rise of China; Russian imperialism; the mullahs in Iran trying to kick the Americans and their influence out of the Middle East; mass slaughter in Israel and the Gaza Strip; and latent terrorist threats — as well as huge shifts in the global economy through mass migration. It is a combination that creates the most dangerous situation for Britain since 1945.
PAKISTAN - Pakistan's air force has launched retaliatory airstrikes on two alleged militant positions in Iran, days after an Iranian airstrike killed two children in the country. The air attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan province Thursday killed at least seven - and threatens to further enflame tensions between the two nations. The strikes also imperil already dodgy diplomatic relations between the neighbors, as Iran and nuclear-armed Pakistan have long regarded each other with suspicion. They also raise the threat of a full-blown war breaking out in a Middle East already plagued by Israel's now months-long conflict with Hamas. Further stirring the figurative Middle East pot is the fact that Iran already staged multiple airstrikes in Iraq and Syria late Monday - after an Islamic State-claimed suicide bombing that killed over 90 people earlier in the month.
SWITZERLAND - Holy Hell! Another Elitist Freak Show… Demonic witch mumbles incantations, hexes stage, blows air at attendees… Welcome to Davos! So a demonic witch kicked off the day at The World Economic Forum in Davos this morning. The witch mumbled incantations, blew air on attendees, and hexed the stage to kick things off. She touched the speakers on the stage and blew into the crowd! Obviously, the elites are no longer pretending to be worried about COVID. So they hide the Christians – and push this demonic s**t instead.
ISRAEL - Failing to achieve its primary objectives of crushing Hamas and recapturing its detainees by force, the Israeli military recently announced that it is moving into what it calls “phase 3” of its war in Gaza. Despite claims to the contrary by the Israeli leadership, around a dozen armed groups based in the besieged Palestinian territory continue to wage daily battles from north to south. Having inflicted what UN aid chief Martin Griffiths called “the worst ever” humanitarian crisis, killing roughly 30,000 Palestinians in the process, the invading Israeli army has very little to show for it militarily.
USA - How does it feel to have the largest government that the planet has ever seen? When I was growing up, I was taught that we had a capitalist system and that we had a limited federal government. Of course neither of those things has been true for a very long time. Today, the United States has the biggest government in the history of the world, and it gets even bigger with each passing year. Running that gigantic government requires more money than we actually have, and so we are going into staggering amounts of debt. But there is no way that our politicians will ever agree to reduce the size of the federal government to an appropriate size. So we are stuck with this system until the day when it finally collapses.
UNITED NATIONS - Antonio Guterres claims a reformed global body could repair the loss of faith in public institutions. People no longer trust their governments to tackle climate change, war, and inequality, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said. While Guterres views a reformed UN as the solution, polling shows that most Westerners want their leaders to simply focus on different issues. Addressing the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos on Wednesday, Guterres opened by declaring climate change and the development of artificial intelligence to be the most serious threats to public trust in government worldwide.
USA - A surge of stranded electric vehicles, predominantly Tesla cars, has overtaken the Oak Brook Supercharger station in Chicago, as a severe cold snap renders many EVs powerless and immobile. Fox 32 reports that the recent wave of freezing temperatures in Chicago has taken a significant toll on EVs, causing an unusual scene at the Oak Brook Tesla Supercharging station. This station, along with many others around the Chicago area, has been crowded with dead Teslas, as owners face difficulties in charging their vehicles. From angry Tesla owners sharing videos of their cars failing to start to owners having to charge their vehicles six times in one day due to massively reduced battery performance, Tesla cars simply can’t handle the winter in a major portion of North America. A local car expert, Mark Bilek of the Chicago Auto Trade Association, commented: “Like any new technology, there’s a learning curve for people. It’s not plug and go. You have to precondition the battery, meaning that you have to get the battery up to the optimal temperature to accept a fast charge.”
SWITZERLAND - Should all of this talk about “Disease X” alarm us? According to the WHO, “Disease X” is an “unknown” hypothetical disease that could potentially kill millions upon millions of people. It is supposed to be a purely theoretical disease, but by giving it a name they are basically inviting people to come up with all sorts of theories about it. And that is especially true now that experts have speculated that it could cause 20 times more deaths than COVID did… Without a doubt, more global pandemics are coming. To give an “unknown” disease a specific name and to throw out numbers for potential death rates is only going to fuel unhealthy speculation. Of course it isn’t just the WHO and the WEF that are doing this.
