German Chancellor Angela Merkel will receive her British counterpart on Wednesday to discuss Britain's decision to leave the European Union and its consequences, a German government spokesman said Monday. May is expected to arrive at 5:30 pm (1530 UTC) and attend a working dinner with Merkel.

"This will be an opportunity to discuss the bilateral relationship, cooperation on a range of global challenges, and of course how the UK and Germany can work together as the UK prepares to leave the EU," an unnamed UK government spokeswoman told the AFP news agency.

"Political developments in Turkey, the refugee question as well as the Brexit issue will be the focus of a joint discussion," German government spokesman Steffen Seibert said in a statement.

From Berlin to Paris. The continental tour will move on to France when May is expected to travel to Paris for a bilateral meeting with France's president, Francois Hollande. May had spent six years as the UK's interior minister before running for the leadership of the UK's Conservative Party following the resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron.

Brexit proponent and former London Mayor Boris Johnson, her surprise choice as new foreign minister, met with his European and US counterparts in Brussels on Monday. "We have to give effect to the will of the people and leave the European Union but... we are not going in any way to abandon our leading role in European participation," Johnson told reporters.

EU leaders insist Britain's negotiations for its departure from the bloc can only start once London invokes Article 50 of the EU's Lisbon Treaty, setting a two-year countdown to its exit.

While most people fret about the fallout from Brexit, some experts believe Italy’s banking crisis represents a far greater threat to the eurozone.

The problem is that Italy’s financial system needs a substantial bailout, but EU “bail-in” laws prevent Prime Minister Matteo Renzi from undertaking one without first wiping out the banks’ shareholders and bondholders.

Renzi, however, is desperate to avoid this because it could cost him his political career. In Italy, tens of thousands of households and individuals have bought such bonds, and forcing the problems of the banks on the man on the street would make it impossible for Renzi to be re-elected. He argues that the rules, introduced after the financial crisis, should be waived because the market turmoil unleashed by Brexit has threatened Italy’s financial stability.

However, Brussels is refusing to budge, and senior banking sources believe Renzi could press ahead with a €40 billion bailout. Such a move would be the equivalent of throwing a hand grenade at the entire EU project. By flouting state aid rules, it throws into question the future of the banking union, a central pillar of the eurozone.

Also, by setting a precedent for bank bailouts, it paves the way for countries such as Portugal, where the financial system is also under strain, to suddenly do the same, therefore undermining the EU’s entire credibility. Forget the Greek crisis – this is Europe’s biggest test yet.

He already was essentially a dictator, but now this “coup” has sealed Turkey’s fate and has pushed them even farther down the path toward becoming a radical Islamic state. If you are going to conduct a military coup, the very first thing that should be on your list is to decapitate the current leadership structure. But even though hundreds were killed and approximately 1,400 people were injured during the short-lived conflict, not a single high ranking official was killed or captured.

I don’t know if I have ever heard of a coup where that didn’t happen. How do you not get a single high ranking official? Either the planners of this coup were completely incompetent, or it was fake. And yes, it is entirely possible that only a small portion of the military was involved and this effort represented the best that they could do to try to rescue Turkey from the grip of a ruthless dictator. Maybe they were hoping that once they lit a spark the public would rally to their cause. But I don’t know if I am buying that explanation. There are just way too many inconsistencies.

For instance, according to Reuters F-16s that were controlled by the opposition could have fired on Erdogan’s plane and taken him out, but they didn’t… In addition, soldiers that took part in the “coup” said “that they thought that they were taking part in military exercises”… If this is true, then the soldiers were just as surprised as everyone else.

To me, this whole thing stinks. Either it was the worst military coup that I have ever seen in my lifetime, or it was a giant theater production. In any event, President Erdogan is taking full advantage of it. His popularity in Turkey is now off the charts, and he is going to have power to do virtually anything he wants at this point…

Unfortunately for the people of Turkey, they are not going to get rid of this dictator any time soon, and he is going to take them much farther down the road toward becoming a truly radical Islamic state.

On Sunday morning, the peace and quiet in Baton Rouge was shattered when “dozens of shots” erupted less than one mile from police headquarters. By the end of it, 29-year-old Gavin Eugene Long had killed three officers and seriously wounded three others. This country is starting to come apart at the seams, and from now on it is going to be very, very dangerous to be a police officer in America.

A dark and distressing time has descended upon the civilized world, and virtually everywhere you look anger and frustration are rising to very dangerous levels. We were warned that this might be a “summer of chaos”, and so far that has definitely been the case. Let us hope that things start to cool off before events start to spiral completely out of control.

According to Amber Lyon, a three-time Emmy award winning journalist, CNN is routinely paid by the US government and foreign governments to selectively report on certain events. I’ve personally met with the White House Press Corp who told me that they are actors not journalists. And the CIA has admitted to using the mainstream media for propaganda purposes:

David Steele, a 20-year Marine Corps intelligence officer, and the second-highest-ranking civilian in the US Marine Corps Intelligence and former CIA clandestine services case officer, said this: “Most terrorists are false flag terrorists, or are created by our own security services. In the United States, every single terrorist incident we have had has been a false flag, or has been an informant pushed on by the FBI. In fact, we now have citizens taking out restraining orders against FBI informants that are trying to incite terrorism. We’ve become a lunatic asylum.”

Yet so many still consider what is reported by the mainstream media to be factual information. Even some so-called alternative media parrot and report on what they announce, often calling it “The Truth About…” but it’s not the truth, at all. Even when there is plenty of proof of media like CNN completely faking their “news”: It is incredibly important that people realize this because the “elites” use the mainstream media and numerous false flag events to further their agendas. They use it to cause fear, divide the population and distract from far more nefarious acts.

The case is over the aggressive actions by the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, which has published guidelines for handling transgender issues in church gatherings that are “open to the public.” The lawsuit filed by the Alliance Defending Freedom on behalf of Fort Des Moines Church of Christ aims “to stop the commissioners and the executive director of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, the Iowa attorney general, and the city of Des Moines from compelling an Iowa church to communicate government messages to which it objects and from forcing the church to use its building in violation of its religious beliefs.”

It explained the commission believes its interpretation of state law allows it “to force churches to allow individuals access to church restrooms, shower facilities, and changing rooms based on his or her gender identity, irrespective of biological sex.” The brief said that for “the first time in our nation’s history, state officials are reaching into the internal affairs of churches to silence them from teaching and publicly promoting a central tenet of their faith and forcing them to operate their own facilities in a way that contradicts their faith.”

“This unprecedented overreach eviscerates the First Amendment and the foundational freedoms it embodies; the freedom of church autonomy, freedom to worship, freedom of speech, freedom of repressive association, and freedom to peaceably assemble without government interference.” The immediate protective order is needed, the church brief argues, because the state’s actions “directly and continually harm the church’s ability to teach its doctrines, to govern itself, and to follow its faith.”

A palliative care center at McGill University Health Centre did not permit euthanasia within the clinic. The Health Minister would not let that stand.

Note carefully, it wasn't that a patient who wanted to be killed couldn't be terminated in the hospital. Just that the patient would have to be moved out of the palliative wing. As I said, the Health Minister would not let that stand.

And now, the palliative care center has bowed the knee. From the Montreal Gazette story: The McGill University Health Centre has repealed its policy exempting the palliative care unit from offering medical aid to die, said Health Minister Gaétan Barrette on Wednesday.

"This morning, I met with Mr (Normand) Rinfret and he told me that as of this very moment, the policy has been repealed," Barrette said, referring to the MUHC's executive director. "As we speak today, no patient can be transferred out of the palliative care unit at the MUHC, and medical aid in dying will be made available in the unit itself."

The culture of death brooks no dissent. It seeks to poison every nook and cranny of the medical sector and society. We will see such pressure nationally soon enough as the national law begins to masticate medical ethics in the rest of the country. Canada is no longer a free country. Any nation that forces doctors to commit or be complicit in - and hospitals to permit - homicide, is a tyranny.

The Crusaders weren't pious. But they had something to do with Christianity, right? Right? That something was the desire impious religious peasants had for martyrdom and the religious promise of redemption that Pope Urban II gave them. Now switch out white Christians with brown Muslims and kindly cease with this bigotry of low expectations. This has something to do with Islam.

It is not a failure of security. We can deploy all the troops we want and it won’t solve anything. Some have accused the French authorities of letting their guard down after the Euros; that’s nonsense. To imagine the security apparatus would lapse into such complacency during a period of unprecedented threat – and unprecedented scrutiny – is absurd.

In fact, what we ask of them is impossible. As in the Orlando attacks, and probably here, people can now be radicalised through social media and online interactions that governments are not – and will never be – equipped to handle. You can’t disrupt a network that was barely a network to begin with and you can’t break up a conspiracy of one. There will never be enough police to stop every runaway truck or every gunman in an airport, or nightclub, or stadium.

So please stop denying the nature of jihadism. Please stop ignoring the narratives which drive these attacks. Instead of aiding extremists who insist Islam today is perfect, perhaps you should aid us beleaguered reformist Muslims who are attempting to address this crisis within Islam against all the odds.
